First Books of 2023

The lovely Sheila over at Book Journey is once again hosting First Book of the Year.  Once again I did not get my act together in time to send her a picture but I'm so looking forward to scrolling through all the other more organized souls and seeing what books they've chosen!  Though I didn't send my picture in I'm still choosing my First Books of the Year.  The books I've chosen fit my reading theme for 2023 - books I'm excited to read.  I over planned in 2022 and while I really enjoyed my reading my goal for 2023 is to take the pressure off and just read books I'm excited to pick up.

First Print Book:

Beyond a Reasonable Stout by Ellie Alexander - This is one of my favorite cozy mystery authors and I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series.  I'm so excited to continue with it!

First E-Book:

Sleep No More by Jayne Ann Krentz - I love romantic suspense and I love Krentz's books so I think it will be a great way to start out the year.

First Audio Book:

The Recipe Box by Viola Shipman - I have been wanting to read this author for years and this is the book I'm most excited about.  I can't wait to listen to it!

What books are you starting your year out with?

  2. Great selection, Katherine. I have several from the library but can't decide which to start with. I am also trying to clear my shelves at home.

Oh please don't say that you don't have your act together yet. Ha, I have no plan what so ever at the moment and haven't actually started with a new book yet...! So you are lightyears ahead of me already.

Have a good week to come and happy reading!

  9. I had almost finished a digital book in 2022 so I finished that in less than an hour this morning but I don't know what book I will really be starting the year with.

  13. I began the book by reading Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to Happiness. Light. Fun. And about happiness.
