Life With Leukemia, a Puppy, and Some Reading

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Currently:

Reading:  Poison in the Pen by Patricia Wentworth and Vinyl Resting by Olivia Blacke

Listening: The Choice by Nora Roberts

This was a pretty boring week.  We got some school in (still working through long division) and a clinic visit.  Will was feeling pretty good and his numbers were steady.  The local St. Jude affiliate had their Christmas party and we had a good time.  Will played one round of laser tag and some games and we hung out with some of our favorite nurses and other staff off hours.

All the classes that I'm assisting in have ended and Rover has one class left before we're done for the rest of the year.  It'll be nice to have a month off and to focus on Rover's training but I'll miss hanging out with the friends I've made and working with other dogs.  Luckily a new puppy class starts up in January and there's nothing better than puppies!

This week we got most of our Christmas shopping done and while I keep seeing things about this being last minute I'm feeling pretty ahead of the game.  Normally we are finishing up by Christmas Eve!

Have a great week and happy reading!

  1. Love those hanging shelves. Glad you had a good get together with the staff. :) I'm trying to get my shopping done and it's coming along, more or less.

    Hope your weekend is great!

  3. Puppy classes should be fun. I wish we had taken our bichon. He landed up taking over the house.

  4. I like uneventful weeks, that means peace and quiet (usually). So happy to hear Will's numbers are looking good and the Christmas party was a hit.
Any new books I have are from digital loan at the library!

  8. I enjoy boring weeks! I've had some half boring weeks lately and I've been so happy with them! After the craziness of my beginning of the school year. Glad Will is doing okay. And yeah, puppies are the best, I can see why you miss time with the dogs. Have a great week!

  9. Nice to have an empty incoming shelf. Will be interested to see what you think of The Choice. I imagine being on audio makes it all the better. Christmas party at St Jude sounds fun.

  10. I think it's great to have a routine week where things go well and get finished. Then you can take a breath before you start the next plan.

  12. Cool looking shelves and that book cover looks like something we'd see on Greg's site - you know, one of his pulp covers. :) Hope the upcoming week is calm and bright!

  13. I like boring weeks! It sounds like you had a nice time at the St. Jude Christmas party. I wish that I could say that I was ready for the holidays but I guess I like waiting until the last minute because I do it every year. Have a great week!

  14. Reading this felt like seeing my life. My husbands cousin came over yesterday to build corner shelves and my kids are learning long division as well. And we are adjusting to a new puppy.

  17. I hope you are enjoying The Vinyl Resting Place. I am looking forward to reading that one too. I am glad to hear Will is doing well and that you all had fun at the holiday party. It's been weird for us not having a Christmas show to prepare for but also nice. I hope you and your family have a great week!
