Books from the Backlog - Morning Glory

Today I'm linking up with Carole from Carole's Random Life of Books for Books from the Backlog.  I really enjoy the chance to feature a book that's been hiding in the piles of books for far too long!

Goodreads:  Morning Glory by Sarah Jio

Blurb:  New York Times bestselling author Sarah Jio imagines life on Boat Street, a floating community on Seattle’s Lake Union—home to people of artistic spirit who for decades protect the dark secret of one startling night in 1959.
Fleeing an East Coast life marred by tragedy, Ada Santorini takes up residence on houseboat number seven on Boat Street. She discovers a trunk left behind by Penny Wentworth, a young newlywed who lived on the boat half a century earlier. Ada longs to know her predecessor’s fate, but little suspects that Penny’s mysterious past and her own clouded future are destined to converge.

Why It Needs to Come Off the Shelf:  It's been on my shelf for ages and it sounds like it could be fantastic.

  1. Oh that would certainly grab my attention - a truck of old letters is interesting. I think living on a houseboat would be fun.

  2. I read another of Sarah Jio's novels years ago and really enjoyed it. Her books always sound so good to me, but I just haven't managed to fit any of her other books, like this one, in. I hope you enjoy Morning Glory when you read it!
