Friday Linkups - Buried in Books

It's Friday linkup time!  I'm linking up with the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer, Book Beginnings of Fridays hosted by Rose City Reader, and the Friday 56 hosted by Freda's Voice

This Week's Book Blogger Hop Question:
Do you have an Instagram account?  If so, do you only follow book folks?

My Answer:
I do have an Instagram account which you can find here  I'd love for you to follow me though I don't have the most exciting account!  I follow a lot of book bloggers (and am always looking for more) but I also follow a few celebrities and friends and a handful of Youtubers.

This week's book is Buried in Books by Kate Carlisle.  I just finished the previous book in this series about a book restorer who stumbles on dead bodies pretty regularly and am excited to start this one.  I haven't gotten very far but I am enjoying it.  The downside is that it makes me want to buy a lot of books - though granted that's not all that hard to do!

The Beginning:
"The name is Wainwright," I said to the conference volunteer seated at the registration table before me.  "Brooklyn Wainwright."

My Thoughts:
Well not the most exciting beginning to a mystery!

The 56:
Before I could start to get my bearings, the room burst into bright light and there was a loud shout of "Surprise!"

My Thoughts:
Also not particular ominous or dramatic but I do feel a bit sorry for Brooklyn.  I would hate surprise parties and Brooklyn has never struck me as the kind of character who would enjoy it either.

So what do you think?  Keep reading?

  16. Looks like a fun series! And I've just discovered Instagram myself- well I've had an account for a while but only recently started using it!

  17. I'm not really a fan of social media. I basically have Goodreads, and Pinterest, which I never find time to go to. I have a Twitter account but hardly get on to use it or read stuff.

  18. Oh, you have an Instagram account? I'll go check it out, though I can't promise to follow. I don't have an account myself. Just don't have the time, as you read in my own BBH post..... :(

Your reading pick has an interesting title! I have quite a few books in my home library, if you've ever seen the pics, which I've posted before in previous BBH posts. :)

I really like that cover, even though it does look a bit busy....but oh, all the books!! And that cat, sitting on a pedestal! Lol.

One of these days I'll finally read a cozy, cross my heart!! Adding this one to my Goodreads shelves!

Thanks for commenting on my BBH post!! HAPPY JULY FOURTH!! <3 :)

  20. I love the sound of this book - yes, and that's because it's about books. Thanks for sharing, and for the visit.

  21. Came here from the Book Blogger Hop Linky! I don't have an Instagram, personal nor book-related. I didn't get to it because I have lacking photography skills. If I have to ever make an account though, it will purely be about books and will follow book folks. :)

  22. I don't usually read cozies, but this sounds like a fun series. :) Plus, the cover is nice.

  24. Buried in Books is one I would really like to read. I hope you love it, Katherine. I have an instagram account, but I rarely use it. I haven't mastered it yet, I'm afraid. I hope you have a great weekend!

  25. Yep, I have an Instagram account, but it took awhile for me to gather the courage to get it. There are lots of blogger friends, authors, chefs, food, planners, coupon peeps and celebrities, so then to be on it a lot. Hugs...and Happy Tuesday! RO

  28. Buried in Books looks like so much fun. I love that cover. :-) I have an Instagram account too, although I am terrible about using it. It's yet another social media format I haven't quite figured out how I want to use yet, you could say. LOL
