Top Ten Tuesday - Backlist Books I Want to Read

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic from That Artsy Reader Girl is Backlist Books I Want to Read.  Now if I listed all the books from the backlist that are still on my TBR this could go on for days.  I'm going to focus on books that have been out for awhile and are by authors that I've already read and know I enjoy!

1.  What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris - I read a recent book from this series and really fell in love with it though I'm a bit in the dark involving all the backstories regarding the series.  I'm really hoping to go back to the beginning at some point.

2.  Thimble Summer by Elizabeth Enright - Enright is without a doubt one of my top 5 children's book authors.  I've read a number of her books multiple times but somehow have yet to get around to this one.

3.  A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L'Engle - I read and loved A Wrinkle in Time when I was a kid but for some reason I never read any more of the series.  I'm not sure if it was because I liked where the world was when that book ended or if I simply just didn't know there were more books.  Now that I do know I really should fix that!

4.  The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen - Sarah Addison Allen is one of my favorite authors for summer reading and this is one I still haven't read yet.

5.  Scarlet Feather by Maeve Binchy - I read a book by Binchy last year and loved it  I've heard this one is even better so I'm hoping to get to this one soon.

6.  The House at Riverton by Kate Morton - I have read 3 books by Morton and have loved them all.  This one has been lurking on my TBR pile for years but hasn't gotten read yet.

7.  Untraceable by Laura Griffin - I only discovered Griffin a year or two ago but I've really enjoyed her romantic suspense and really need to read more!

8.  Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis - I love Jill Shalvis and she writes the best pets!  This series has animals AND a cute romance but somehow I've yet to read the first book.

9.  Angel's Rest by Emily March - This is another favorite series and one that I somehow have never read the early books from.

10. The Anatomist's Wife by Anna Lee Huber - I read the most recent book in this series and really enjoyed it.  I'm hoping to get back to beginning soon.

What book from your backlist is calling to you the most?

  4. I've read books by Maeve Binchy and Kate Morton, but not those books. They have both been on my list for years. Naturally. :-)

  5. Yes Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis is a good series, I did enjoy them all I think. And of course Emily March. Love her books. Liked The Sugar Queen too. I need to double check on a Maeve Binchy, for some reason I have a thing against her but really should give her a decent try out!

  7. I don't think that I have read any of the books that made your list. I actually have most of these on my own tbr list. I might have read Scarlet Feather but it was before I kept track of my reading so I am not sure. It has been a couple of years since I read Sarah Addison Allen and I really need to read her again soon.

  9. The House at Riverton is very good, I think you'll love it. I am deep into Morton's latest book, The Clockmaker's Daughter. Funny you are talking about a backlist as I was about to start my own list of books to read and plan to NOT get distracted!

  10. I've read almost all the Tracers series by Laura Griffin, but this may have been one I skipped over, it's been so long since I started reading them but I do enjoy them very much. I want to pick up a C.S. Harris sometime-- you've reminded me that I was interested in the series earlier this year. And I just love the Lady Darby series by Anna Lee Huber and have read all except the newest one which is on my kindle now. It's funny how I hoard books I was so excited to get, and forget I even have them on the kindle. Great list :)

  11. I read the first three Wrinkle books and had no idea there were more until I went to borrow them from the library for my son. I also had no idea she had written another, after I had devoured those books, until I started blogging. Ha ha. 📚

  12. You just can't go wrong with a Kate Morton title.

I hope you enjoy all these titles as and when you find yourself reading them!

  13. What Angels Fear sounds pretty interesting. My backlist is pretty massive, but I have a stack of Clive Cussler books that I definitely need to get to soon. I read one of his books, then I had to go out to get almost all of them because I love the action and suspense so much. Hope your day is going well, and that your cold is all better. Hugs...RO
