This Week in Reading - November 18

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Untouchable by Jayne Ann Krentz - I've been loving Krentz's romantic suspense so there was no way I could resist this one!  I'm looking forward to giving it a try!  (NetGalley)

Yule Be Dead by Lorraine Bartlett and Gayle Leeson - I've enjoyed the previous books in the series and I've also enjoyed books by Gayle Leeson so I'm super excited about this one.  (Publisher)

Just Plain Murder by Laura Bradford - This series has been on my TBR since the beginning so I'm excited to give this one a try.

Reading:  A Vintage Death by Mary Ellen Hughes and Death of a Neighborhood Scrooge by Laura Levine

Listening:  The Child by Fiona Barton

Watching:  I've watched pretty much the entire series of The Voice in the last couple of days and am still watching Hallmark movies in mass quantities.

Off the Blog:

Thanks for all the well wishes last week.  I'm feeling a little better but not better enough so I'm on a new antibiotic and some super duper cough syrup that I think has more warning stickers on it than an actual bottle of arsenic.  This whole pneumonia thing is pretty persistent but my main issue right now is my super low energy.  I feel okay and then do something fairly small and am suddenly exhausted.  I'm not a fan of this.

Other than that we're getting ready for Thanksgiving.  Years ago we started doing Thanksgiving dinner on Friday so no one has to have 2 meals in 1 day.  It's much more relaxed and it gives me a little more time for prep work which will come in handy this year.  I'm thinking for Thanksgiving we may have Costco appetizers and watch Christmas movies.

  1. Hope the new antibiotic and cough syrup help! Pneumonia can be exhausting for sure! Have a great and easy thanksgiving and enjoy those holiday movies! That sounds pretty good to me. :)

Looking forward to your new Classic Movie post too!

  2. I sure hope the antibiotic kicks in. And it's common to feel fatigued so easily. It takes quite awhile to fully get over the symptoms. I hope you feel well enough to enjoy Thanksgiving:)

    My Sunday Post

  3. Hope your energy comes back soon. Sounds like a good plan for Thanksgiving. Yes JAK does write a good romantic suspense for sure.

  4. I'm not surprised that you feel so tired. I had that Aussie Flu earlier this year and it wiped me out. I had four days of a cough that rattled every part of my body and that was a nightmare so I have real sympathy for you as what you have is worse. Hopefully these new pills and potions will work for you and you'll feel better as soon as possible. Rest with films sounds like a good call!

  5. I hear so many bloggers suffering from flu already. It might have something to do with the weather changes. I hope you are doing better!

  6. Glad you are taking care of yourself and be sure and continue. Some of these illnesses really do take a while to get over. It's tough to be kind to yourself and just relax and heal. Your plans for Thanksgiving sound wonderful. Enjoy!

  7. I hope you're able to get a lot of rest this week, even with the holiday! <3

  8. Sorry to hear that the pneumonia junk is sticking around. I hope it's better by Thanksgiving so you can enjoy the holiday!

I read the first book in the Amish Mysteries just the other week and it was good so I hope you enjoy that one. :)

Have a great week and happy reading!

  9. I hope you feel better soon!

I love Jayne Ann Krentz's romantic suspense, so Untouchable is on my list. I also enjoyed Fiona Barton's The Child.

Have a great week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  10. Sorry you're still not up to par... hope the new antibiotic does the trick. Get better soon and Happt Thanksgiving!

  11. I love Jayne Ann Krentz! I will have to check that book out. I hope you feel better soon!

  12. I hope you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving and not too hectic - you really must take it easy, or you'll continue to exhaust yourself and hold up your recovery, Katherine. Pneumonia used to be a major killer in times past... Take care! Sorry to be a nagging old bat - but I recall how it wiped out my mother when she was struggling to recover.

  13. I don't think I've read Krentz so I'll watch for your review of Untouchable. I hope you can get enough rest to feel better and also enjoy your holiday celebrations. Costco apps and movies sounds near-perfect!

  14. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

  15. I hope you are feeling stronger and can enjoy your Thanksgiving! Also some reading! Anne - Books of My Heart

  16. I’m glad you’re feeling better! When I traveled a lot, I used to get bronchitis several times a year. It always made me very tired. Have a good week!

  17. I sure hope you get to feeling better. I don't know if this relates to your illness but last year I caught something that just depleted my energy. I was going to bed at 8:00, no taste for alcohol (not that it's a bad thing), and felt exhausted all the time. The doctor never did find out what it was but it took exactly 3 weeks to pass. Co-workers had it too - same thing, three weeks.

    Hope you are doing better.

  18. I hope you are feeling better very soon. Listen to your body and get the rest you need. I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving. Staying in and having a quiet day sounds perfect to me.

  19. I like how you stretch out turkey day; yeah, why eat two meals in a day? My brother has to hop from our dinner to my SIL's family but he oinks out at ours b/c they usually have mostly Chinese food.

    1. Oh and get well soon! I'm sorry you're still going through the last of your pneumonia. And this is with a flu shot? Hot damn. Take it easy.
