This Week in Reading - November 4

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

A Dangerous Duet by Karen Odden - I've been loving historical mysteries lately and this one involving the sister of a Scotland Yard Inspector who is playing piano in a music hall to raise tuition and of course stumbles upon some nefarious goings on.  (Blog Tour)

 Currently:

Reading:  Reason to Doubt by Nancy Cole Silverman and A Wrench in the Works by Kate Carslile

Listening: Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney.  I'm having some mixed feelings about this one.

Watching:  Caught up on NCIS this week.  I forgot how much I enjoy the original!

Off the Blog:

This week was Book Fair at the Tornado's school and I ended up volunteering most days.  It was a lot of work but very fun.  The Tornado did a Trunk or Treat on Tuesday and then we went Trick or Treating with friends on Halloween night and had a lot of fun.  Somehow with all of this I managed to get sick.  I actually feel okay but I have a lot of chest pressure, a horrific cough and my voice is on the fritz.  It doesn't seem to be getting better but it also isn't getting worse so that's something I guess

On the Blog:

  5. Apologies if this is a duplicate comment as I'm having issues. A book fair sounds fun, and a great place to do your volunteering stint. And yes to historical mysteries from me too.

  6. I hope you feel better soon and get some rest. I try to avoid people in winter to stay away from the bugs and viruses!

  8. Glad you had a great halloween, we did a quiet one since the kids didn't really want to go out. Sorry you aren't feeling well, my allergies have been kicking my butt the last few months. It could be a mix of the cats and weird weather. I hope you feel better.

Have a great week, Katherine! Get lots of Rest! Happy Reading! :)

  10. I'm guessing you've gone down with the 'lergy like a sack of spuds because you are basically exhausted... Do take a bit of time to look after yourself, Katherine. And hopefully, the coming week is more restful...

  11. Sorry to hear you're feeling bad. I was deathly ill at the beginning of the year and this year I plan on avoiding all the holiday peeps to stay healthy.

  12. Hope you are doing better now. I suppose it is due to the changing weather. Have a good week ahead.

  18. Thank goodness your cold isn't getting worse, but it sounds like you're still pretty miserable. I hope you feel better soon. Where I live there are no kids, so I didn't get to give out candy or see any of them dressed up. It was cool to see the people from Good Morning America, Rachel Ray, The Price is Right, The Talk and Kelly and Ryan dress up. Some of the costumes that people come up with always fascinate me. I'm glad you guys had so much fun. Hugs and Happy Monday! RO

  20. My comments started to post without avatars on Blogger last week, and then this week I found out my comments disappeared from all Blogger blogs. I figured out that Blogger had disconnected my blog profile from my commenting and was trying to force me to link it to my Google+ profile, but I like it linked to my blog because then the comment link goes straight there. Anyway, I didn't want you to think I wasn't commenting. I seem to have it straightened out now, and the comments are back. 🙌🙌🙌🙌

I hope the Tornado got a lot of good candy! 🍫🍬🍭

I hope you are feeling better. I caught something similar and I thought I was going to pass out when I went to vote. 😛

  21. I hope you saw the doctor. It seemed like you were really suffering with that cold. Yay for book fair volunteers; that fair is a lot of work.
