Friday Fives - My Favorite Things

I'm taking a bit of a break from my usual Friday Linkups to try something a little different.  Michelle over at Because Reading is Better Than Real Life   used to do a Five on Fridays that I always enjoyed and I've seen a few other variations on the theme.  As well I'm in a list making kind of mood so I thought I'd give start making random five lists.  Sometimes they'll be bookish other weeks not so much.  This is a not so much week.  Since it's my birthday month I'm focusing on my favorite things and this week I'm listing my favorite non-bookish things!

1.  Disney Mugs/Tumblers - I love Disney World and right now it's my favorite vacation spot.  I love using my Disney mugs for my coffee in the morning or my tea at night as well my tumblers for water.  I'm always looking for new ones to add to my collection!

2.  Audible - Okay so this one is bookish but there's just something about the way Audible works that really works for me and I've really been enjoying it since I've added the Romance package (which has a pretty decent variety of other genres too) I've been using it all the time.

3.  Scrunchies - Scrunchies were a big deal when I was a teenager and then they went away.  And now they're back!  I'm not sure if they're in any way trendy or stylish or any of those things but they're way better than those skinny hairbands I've been putting up with for years.  I'm beyond thrilled and am acquiring quite the collection.

4. Yoga - I've been having some health issues lately which has caused a lot of joint pain and yoga has been a lifesaver.  I love Yoga with Adriene and SarahBethYoga on YouTube.  They have a lot of great wind down videos as well as some great more active practices.

5.  TV - I've been really enjoying TV lately.  I'm really liking NCIS, MacGyver, Magnum PI, The Voice and a bunch of other shows and have been watching a lot of Hallmark movies and classic movies.

What are some of your favorite things?

  1. I love your posts so much! I remember scrunchies, and didn't know they were back, but yay! Kudos on continuing to do your yoga, and that it's working so well. Very cool about the Disney mugs, and know you'll pick up lots more during your trip. Have you still been watching Trading Spaces? It's funny to see how nervous people get when they find out they have Hildy or Doug.(lol) I love my classic movies with Fred Astaire, Geney Kelly and Audrey Hepburn but I think my fave is Rosalind Russell in Auntie Mame. The clothing, the furniture and the humor are just fabulous! Happy Friyay! RO

  2. Very nice, Katherine! We have a few Disney mugs too, though not as many as in past years. It's been a while since we visited. I've begun a new yoga class that I'm enjoying very much. I do know that Yoga With Adriene is out there as well. I love audiobooks and use Audible and my local library all the time for them.

  3. Scrunchies are coming back? AWESOME! I may have to make some. (I crocheted some years ago and posted it on FB, and some people laughed at me, but scrunchies are great when you have fine hair that breaks and splits easily. They're gentle on your hair, and they don't pull like hair bands do. They're great for messy buns).

I've done Yoga with Adrienne! I like her. When I actually have the energy to do yoga, I often do Youtube videos of Boho Beautiful- their videos seem to very much target my painful areas, and they're really balanced (if you bend one direction, the next pose will have you bending the other direction, and I need that). I'm glad you're finding online yoga helpful!

  4. Nice to have some top favourites. I tried yoga - but I am not disciplined enough to keep with it but... I sure need it. I like Audible too, I opted not to get the romance package, my choices are more limited in it as not every book is available. However I do get two credits per month and did make use of the sale at the moment. It had to be $10 or under for me to click.

  7. Scrunchies were huge back in the day! It's so funny that they've made a comeback. My 17yo is all about scrunchies, so that must mean they're stylish again :)

  8. I want to watch more classic movies this year, they're just so comforting in many cases. Like a good comfort watch! And I think back to the older Magnum PI fondly... I haven't seen the new show though.

    Disney mugs are awesome!

  12. I need a Scrunchie in my life!! I haven't had one since I was a kid! And ooh! I'm glad yoga is working for you! I just bought myself and my husband new yoga mats from B Yoga. I LOVE this brand. This is my second mat from them, only because I need one for work and one for at home :-D I highly recommend it if you're looking for a great mat that doesn't make you slide around!
