Books from the Backlog - Breakwater Bay

Today I'm linking up with Carole from Carole's Random Life of Books for Books from the Backlog.  I really enjoy the chance to feature a book that's been hiding in the piles of books for far too long!

Goodreads:  Breakwater Bay by Shelley Noble

Blurb:  Preservationist Meri Hollis loves her latest project, restoring one of Newport's forgotten Gilded Age mansions. And with summer approaching, she'll be able to spend more time with her Gran on the Rhode Island shore. She has a great job, a loving family and she's pretty sure her boyfriend is going to propose on her thirtieth birthday.
But everything Meri believes about family, happiness, truth and love is shattered when her family's darkest secret is exposed.

Thirty years before, Meri's neighbor and friend, Alden Corrigan, took his father's dinghy out to fish. In a sudden storm, he rushed to help a woman stranded on the breakwater. She was just a girl . . . a very pregnant girl who disappeared soon after they reached safety-But not before she left behind a very special gift.

Now that the truth it out, life will change for everyone in Breakwater Bay, and Meri and Alden will have to make decisions that could insure their future together . . . or separate them for good.

Why It Needs to Come Off the Shelf:  I read a book by Shelley Noble several years ago and loved it so I promptly bought several more of her books and then didn't read them.  I need to pick up one to see if I enjoy all of her books as much as I enjoy the one I read.

  1. Oh yes, this sounds like a good one! Hope you get to it soon so you can tell us more.

  2. You are doing well on getting yuor books from the backlog! I have several Netgalley books but I also have two that just came in from the library.
I like the sound of this plot and will add it to my list too.

  3. Haha, I've done that before and still have tons of books on my shelf as a result. Hope you end up loving it when you get the chance to take it off your shelf.

  4. Definitely a book I would want to read. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Well you sure have a few of her back list so sure hope you still like her writing! I see I have read three of hers and liked them, but not read this one.
