Life with Leukemia (And Some Reading) - January 9

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Totally Pawstruck by Sofie Ryan - I thought I was going to have another week of no new books but this one snuck in just in time.  And even better it is one that I'm super excited about.

Currently:

Reading:  Spirits and Sourdough by Bailey Cates and Double Sin and Other Stories by Agatha Christie

Listening:  The Rhyme of the Magpie by Marty Wingate

Watching:  Friends: The Reunion - I've been rewatching the series and couldn't resist watching the Reunion.  I so enjoyed it.  It was nice to see how much they seemed to really enjoy being together and it was interesting to see how everyone aged. I think Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc aged the best and I think the main secret is they fought it the least.

It snowed!  It never snows here and the day before it had been almost 80 degrees.  When the temperature dropped and people started talking snow I didn't believe it would actually stick.  It wasn't much but apparently it snowed hard enough and just enough that it stuck.  Will and Rover thought it was absolute wonderful.  I was less thrilled but did enjoy seeing the two of them playing in it. It was gone the next day and the temperatures have risen to at least above freezing.  I am not a fan of cold!

This week is one of those weeks where it feels like every appointment ever to be scheduled all ended up on the same week.  How does that happen?  Also, Rover has puppy class which I am very excited about.  It's 8 weeks and I'm excited to get started on training and seeing a class full of puppies.

Have a greatweek and happy reading!

  1. Sofie Ryan- I think I almost started a book of hers a few years ago. Was reading more cosies then.

Snow! We have some here too and unfortunately it's sticking around a bit longer. :)

  2. I am with Will and Rover, would love to have snow. I actually prefer cold to hot, but... do like the sun. Hate grey skies and of course that goes with snow! Occasionally I watch Friends. It was a really good show.

  4. I just love cozy covers. They are often the cutest. I hope you are enjoying your reading! Look at all that snow! I am glad Will and Rover enjoyed being able to play in it. My daughter would be so jealous. :-) I hope you have a good week and everything goes well with the appointments and puppy classes!

  5. I love winter, given that we have a very mild and short winter around here in Dubai. So I guess, my vote doesn't count. I hope you have a good week ahead and enjoy the puppy class as well.

  6. Ooh, great snow photos! I have never lived in a place where it snows, although it has snowed here a couple of times over the years. We live two hours from regular snow, so that's enough for me!

Love the look of the cozies. Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  9. I WISH we would get snow. We've had warm weather, lots of rain, cold weather, and more rain. Your books look cute, happy reading! https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2022/01/stacking-shelves-5sunday-post-2.html

  10. We usually get 1-2 days of snow here a year and we had flurries last week. It's been cold at night. It isn't low temps so much as gusty winds I find cold. Enjoy the puppy class!

  11. I still need to watch the Friends reunion! We were supposed to get a few inches of snow, but barely got a dusting. It was pretty disappointing. I like one or two good snows a winter, especially if it means a snow day and no school! Have a great week!

  12. Snow in your part of the world! Bet that is quite the change, but I also bet it was fun for both Will and the new puppy. Hope all the appointments and puppy class go well.

  13. I grew up in Ohio where it snowed inches and inches of snow and I miss it so much. I did see a little bit for the first time since 'the end of '85 when I visited Ohio in Dec. of '19, but it wasn't enough.

Glad Will and Rover got to enjoy it! BTW, one of the dogs I had growing up was named Rover.

I watched the Friends reunion and loved it!

  15. You got snow??!! Wow, bet Will and Rover thought it was a special treat just for them... looks like they enjoyed every moment. I almost miss snow... probably haven't been in FL long enough yet ;-) Have a good week!

  16. Why is it that all appointments seem to happen in the same week? I do the same thing to myself and I hate it! It is so much fun to watch kids and dogs play in the snow. I hate being in it myself but love watching the pure joy on my dogs and on my kids when they were younger.

  18. I'm so happy Will and Rover got snow to romp in. 🤗 I'm with you I don't like the cold. It's going to be near -30° here tomorrow with the wind chill. I'm happy I don't have to go out in it, but I feel horrible that Baz has to walk to work. At least he's getting a ride home. 🥶

Have a wonderful and warmer new week. 🌞

  19. Wow! Snow for you. We haven't even had snow here in Indiana except for a wet snow in October that barely covered the ground and was gone in a couple hours. I'm glad Will and Rover had fun with it.

Have a good reading week. It looks like you have fun books to read.
