Life with Leukemia (and Some Reading) - October 18

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

Will made his counts which means we are officially in phase 3!  Phase 3 is 120 weeks of treatment so it's definitely a marathon but other then 2 3 week periods it is supposed to be way less intense.  Basically if everything is going right you go in once a week for labs and chemo and a new prescription for some kind of oral chemo.  Unfortunately, the medicine combo this week has been hard on him and he's been really groggy and more then a little cranky.  Thankfully he just took his last dose of the one that I suspect is the problem so I'm hoping that those side effects will fade away and it'll be about a month before we have to worry about that one again.

I'm hoping to head to a used bookstore that is not far from us and am really excited.  It's been a long time since I've been in person book shopping and  used book shopping is my favorite thing because it's like a treasure hunt.

Currently:

ReadingDressed Up 4 Murder by JC Eaton and Deception by Gaslight by Kate Belli

Listening:  This Side of Murder by Anna Lee Huber

Watching:  I watched American Murder: The Family Next Door on Netflix and found it fascinating.  It wasn't anything I didn't know but it made for compelling TV.

How did your week going?  What are you reading?

  1. Will is doing so well and I'm glad that things are moving along to phase 3. It really is a long slog for all of you. I'm firmly indoors, except to feed the squirrels, as our region still has rising virus cases and I'm taking no chances.

  4. Ah the side effects are so trying. Hope there will be a lull, hard on Will and hard on you. I can almost smell the second hand bookshop! For the first time for years I didn't go to our annual huge local book fair, I just felt I have enough books and need to clear some! I did just buy the latest Jenny Colgan on audio and looking forward to it.

  9. As always, I continue to keep the family in prayer. I know it's been so rough, but I do continue to believe that God is a Healer. Like you, I watched American Murder and was fascinated at some of the behind the scenes info that was shown. I remember so vividly when the news people interviewed him while he was on the porch, and felt vibes that he killed his own family. This guy is truly a narcissist, and it surprised me that he even admitted to doing it. So sad that he did what he did. Have you been watching the new(8th) season of British Baking Show? I never get tired of it. Yay to visiting the bookstore. What a great way to relax a little and to find some new books. Hugs, RO

  13. Glad to read Will has leveled up the positive way. I finished the Ravenel series which was enjoyable. I'm trying to sink more into Unmarriageable, which is an Indian version of Pride & Prejudice + I had started the last book in The Black Witch series. I was in the mood for some serious witches.
