Reading Monthly Recap - September 2024

Monthly Recap:

Monthly Reading Count - 16 - not a bad month quantity-wise but not a standout month quality-wise.

Print - 5
Ebook - 5
Audiobook - 6

Mystery - 15
Romance - 1

Favorite Books of the Month:

Haunted Ever After by Jen DeLuca - This was a fun bit of escapist reading that I really hope becomes a series.

Sticks and Stone by Ellie Alexander - I really love this cozy mystery series and it was nice to see some development happen for the characters.

Least Favorite Book of the Month:
End of Story by A.J. Finn - I really liked the beginning, was bored for the middle and was disappointed by the end.  I'll try something else by this author but this was not a winner for me.

Bookish Armchair Travel:

Domestic Travel:  I visited Ohio and Minnesota for the first time as well and revisits to Oregon, New York (twice), Maine, Washington (three times), California, Florida, New Hampshire, and Arizona.

International Travel:  Not much this month - only England and only twice

How was your September?  Where did your reading take you?

  1. It's lovely that you read so many books, but it's a disappointment that the quality wasn't as good as the quantity.

  2. You had a great reading month! I was in Ibiza for Armchair Travel :-) Never have been there for real. Spent some time in Spain in the 1970s but never made it to Ibiza.

  3. oh I have End of Story on my library hold so I must have seen a positive review. Which book took you to Minnesota? Nice balance of formats in your reading month.

  4. I watched tv more than I read, and visited South Korea where the K dramas are filmed. Love their stories, elaborate plots and fascinating characters. Plus the scenery of the city and the countryside. Have a good week.

  6. Some months we just don't quite get the quality of story we are looking out for. Ha just spent some time trying to find Sticks and Stone, but finally found the Scone bit!! Must read more of these Bakeshop mysteries. Have only read 1 and 2.
