It's Sunday Post time! This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.
What I Got:
Final Exam by Carol J. Perry - I'm so behind in this series but I love it so much and am looking forward to getting caught up and reading this one! (NetGalley)
One Potato, Two Potato, Dead by Lynn Cahoon - I never turn down a book by Lynn Cahoon and the title made me giggle so I couldn't pass it up! (NetGalley)
Pinot Red or Dead by J.C. Eaton - Eaton is another favorite and while this isn't my favorite series there was no way I could pass this one up! (NetGalley)
Currently:
Reading: Cloaked in Malice by Annette Blair and Governess Gone Rogue by Laura Lee Guhrke
Listening: I finished A Share in Death by Deborah Crombie and was in the mood for romantic suspense so I'm going with Secret Sisters by Jayne Ann Krentz
Watching: I made the mistake of watching 5 episodes of Criminal Minds in a row so I'm a bit jumpy right now. I'll be sticking with The Great British Bake Off for awhile.

My Granddad and me in the early 80s |
This was the first week back at school and I did not enjoy getting back to the early mornings! The Tornado did remarkably well and I think has enjoyed getting back into his routine and spending time with his friends. Next weekend is a three day weekend here and I'm already looking forward to getting to sleep in a little for all 3 days!

That Cahoon title is pretty funny! I love the cozy titles so much. And I really should give GBBO a try as everyone seems to be raving about it!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your grandfather!! 95- awesome!
I'm looking forward to reviews for The Au Pair since I want to read that one. :)
The cozy looks fun and I always love the clever titles for them. Happy Birthday to your grandfather!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
LOL, I remember that first week back after the holiday break. It's cold, dark and way too early. Criminal Minds and CSI are my go to shows I flick on late night since they are syndicated. Yep, they can make me jumpy too. Have an awesome week!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations with your grandfathers birthday. He sounds like an impressive man.
ReplyDeleteCriminal Minds is good! But it can definitely leave you feeling jumpy. I've been watching the last season of Masterchef US, and love it so far.
Have a great week and happy reading!
The Secret Sisters I haven't read - yet and will most likely go the audio way. Enjoy the time with your grandfather, such a special relationship and now a wonderful celebration.
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts for your grandfather. 💜
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week. 🌞
Your grandfather sounds like a pretty tough and resourceful guy! I'm a Bake Off fan for sure. I don't cook much but I really love all these cooking competition shows!
ReplyDeleteI also got Final Exam and I'm so excited to read it. Happy birthday to your grandfather! I also couldn't watch more than 2 or 3 episodes of Criminal Minds at once without feeling a little bit paranoid about everyone around me. The show is great, but a little bit too bloodthirsty for me. Right now I'm watching Once Upon A Time with my mom and I'm super happy I convinced her to watch the show. We're on the second season right now and she's finally met the wonderful Hook :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week :D
First week back is always a nightmare! I'm glad it went smoothly for you.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover for Final Exam! It's so cute.
Happy Birthday to your grandpa. He's an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love the pic of you and your grandfather together - it's lovely that the bond between you is still so strong. Congratulations on his 95th birthday - what an achievement. And I feel your pain regarding the early mornings... I got into some really bad habits while I was ill and I need to roll back my time to rise by at least a couple of hours - one of my goals during the next few months - wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad to hear your grandfather is getting around well. Clearly you have a wonderful relationship with your grandparents, that’s so special.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo and - Is that a Chester O’Chimp I see in the background ?! I still have my Chester toy, beat up but I will post you a photo.
So glad you're visiting your grandfather and celebrating his 95th birthday! He sounds like he's doing well which is wonderful. How did you like Share in Death by Deborah Crombie? As you probably know she's one of my all-time favorite authors. I'm hoping for a new book by her this year. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your grandpa! It's lovely that you are able to spend time with him... and it's clear that you treasure that time.
ReplyDeleteOh, boy, is it tough to get back to the earlier mornings! I haven't managed it yet -- one of the perks AND drawbacks of freelancing is the ability to set my own schedule.
Have a wonderful week, Katherine!
Happy Birthday to your grandpa! You are very lucky to get to spend so much time with them. Grandparents have the best stories. I miss mine so much
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the kids to have off. I love sleeping in on those days. :) Next couple of weeks is just regular school for them. I think the next break they have is in February.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Katherine! Happy Reading! xx
Your grandfather sounds impressive! Enjoy your time with him.
ReplyDeleteI loved An Anonymous Girl, and I got Untouchable this past week.
I love cozies, so adding more to my stacks will make me feel good.
Enjoy! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Your grandfather sounds very strong for an elderly man! I almost got all the books you did but two I am hoping to get audios for so I didn't grab them on NG, trying to limit my NG intake this year...lol *fingers crossed as my willpower isn't that strong...lol*
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading!

Final Exam looks like a fun read!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
Happy birthday to your grandfather! I’ve been struggling to get up in the morning, too, so I can relate. I’m so tired! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It sounds like your grandfather had a nice birthday. I am glad he is doing so well, especially after all he's been through. Mouse's first week back was this past week. She had mixed feelings about being back, but was glad to see her friends again. Unfortunately, she seems to have caught a virus that's knocked her down pretty good. She may have to stay back from school tomorrow. :-(
ReplyDeleteI am eager to read Final Exam. I hope you have a great week!
What a wonderful old photo of you and your grandfather!! You're lucky to be able to be with him for his birthday celebration. Love the clever titles of those cozy mysteries:)
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of you and your Granddad! So sweet! Glad you get to spend time with him and I'm sure he treasures it. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable old photo of you and your Grandpa! Mine's passed away more than 10 years ago and I still missed him very much. And I'm looking forward for your Au Pair's review!
ReplyDelete95 is amazing. Sounds like he has a fighting spirit, too :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good week. My experience is that kids like routine, as they know what to expect. We are also looking forward to the MLK holiday without school. Enjoy your reads! Anne - Books of My Heart
ReplyDeleteLove that photo of you and your grandfather. He sounds like a wonderful man. I liked Cloaked in Malice. I think a fellow knitter had let me read her copy and then I found out it was a series and I had read out of order. I have it marked as one to buy since the library doesn't carry it. I'm hankering for some cozy mysteries also to read. Trying to finish up my library books first.
