It's Friday linkup time! I'm linking up with the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer, Book Beginnings of Fridays hosted by Rose City Reader, and the Friday 56 hosted by Freda's Voice
This Week's Book Blogger Hop Question:
Where do you post your reviews besides your blog?
My Answer:
Just Goodreads. I did post on Amazon but got blocked from reviewing not too long ago. I probably could argue it but I just haven't felt like putting the time into it. I do pin them on Pinterest but not as regularly as I should.
This week's book is one I'm super excited about The Guests on South Battery by Karen White. I loved a book I read earlier this year by Karen White and not only is this set in Charleston which is one of my favorite places but it also involves ghosts and old houses which is super exciting.
The Beginning:
There is no escaping the dead.
My Thoughts:
Well that's somewhat ominous.
The 56:
She stopped and faced me. "I don't like old houses, and seeing this hasn't really changed my mind. I'm ready to list it as is."
My Thoughts:
I can't imagine not liking old houses so her thinking has me a bit curious here.
So what do you think? Keep reading?
I post them on Goodreads as well. I've gradually been uploading them to Amazon bits at a time but it'll take forever plus Amazon rejects one and you need to fight them to get it put up...all very time consuming but I do want to help the Indie authors I've read so I guess I have to do it!
ReplyDeleteI post on Good reads too. I occasionally sit and post a bunch to Amazon but it is a pain. Enjoy your reading!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am going to have to add this book to my list! I love Charleston so much and like you, I heart a book about ghosts and old houses in Southern homes. Lol
ReplyDeleteI love this series, and haven't yet read this one! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI post my reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, Facebook...and my blog. Amazon has been annoying me lately, with changes they've made...like having to add an ID number. Seriously? I've only been posting there since 2008. LOL.
Oops: my link - “MR. FLOOD’S LAST RESORT”
DeleteLol that is rather ominous! And goodness I used to post on Goodreads and I'm so terrible at it...
ReplyDeleteI've read the first one in this series and have a couple more on TBR mountain. I need to find time to read them. This week I am featuring Second Chance on Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer from my review stack. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteSo is it a ghost story? Or is the opening quote not literal? My Friday Quotes and review of SPEAK
ReplyDeleteI'm sucked right in by that beginning! Creeptastic!! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of bloggers being blocked on Amazon from reviewing. It's really too bad. I think they are targeting too many of the wrong people.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Karen White's writing and it's a fun series, even if the main character rubs me a bit wrong. I need to jump back into the series.
I love old houses too, especially some of old houses I've seen in Charleston. See what I'm featuring at Girl Who Reads
ReplyDeleteI don't review much on my blog anymore because they get almost no views, but I review almost everything on Goodreads and Amazon if it is already published, but I forget about ARCs that have published after the fact many times. Netgally has a weekly reminder email now and the review pages have instalinks to Amazon and B&N. I also try and copy paste everything to Edlweiss because you can review all of the books on their site. I saw that Hoopla has an review button, but I don't have time for that right now. 📚
ReplyDeleteDid you get completely blocked from Amazon or just one review? I have read two blog posts from bloggers who were blocked. Sorry that happened. 😟
Hope you'll enjoy this as much as the other one by this author.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Amazon don't let me review either, but that's because I only really buy DVDs from them, not books so much.
DeleteWonder why you can't review on Amazon?
ReplyDeleteKaren White's books are FAB.
Thanks for sharing.
You? Blocked from Amazon?! I have had a few reviews rejected for violating terms of service but. Don’t know which rule I broke. Authors, or manufacturers, appreciate feedback so its not good for Amazon to deny a review of a product.
ReplyDeleteI like the/ beginning of this book, draws you in. I am visiting sporadically as my usual issue with Verizon keeps me from you :-(. THANK YOU for turning me on to Netgalley! Loving it!
