Life with Leukemia (And Some Reading) - December 4

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

No new books this week!

Currently:

Reading:  Absence of Mallets by Kate Carlisle and Through the Wall by Patricia Wentworth

Listening The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden

We finally got to have the special fun thing I've been mentioning for the last couple of weeks!

Meet Rover!  He is an 8 week old Golden Retriever puppy and he came home yesterday.  We have been debating the name choice for weeks!  Will was insistent that his name be space themed because our cat's name is Comet.  So after MUCH rather heated debate we settled on Rover which is both a super typical dog name and space themed.

He is such a doll and so snuggly!  The picture above is me holding him when we were trying to decide on which puppy and he just snuggled in.  I'm trying to get my face out of the photo but obviously it failed but that's why I'm standing at that weird angle!  He's settled in pretty nicely though I think we all forgot how much work puppies are!  Will has been a big help and we are all getting aclimated.  He's doing so well though I'm sure it's overwhelming at times to the little guy but he's so sweet and playful.  Our cat Comet is NOT amused and periodically glares at him.  He's not scared of the puppy at all so I think he will get used to him relatively quickly.  Comet makes Rover a touch nervous at the moment which will make Comet pretty happy so I think it will all work out.  So we have survived the first 24 hours!  If you don't hear from me next week it's because we've been done in by sleep deprivation but he's cute enough that it's almost worth it!

Have a great week and happy reading!

  3. Omg we also got a puppy in the house next week, but she's named Fiesta xD My cat is also not amused. I'm glad Rover is bringing extra happiness into the house but puppies definitely do require a lot of work as well. I hope you have a lovely week with the puppy!

  4. What a cutie and I'm sure Will is thrilled. Enjoy.

My daughter, SIL and 2 girls got a first time dog 2 months ago. They are so happy but, admittedly much more work than a cat. She fears when the y get their tree next week, the dog may think it's a new play toy LOL

  7. Rover is adorable! Golden Retrievers are such great dogs. It's funny how you forget how much work a puppy is. Thankfully that stage is short-lived.

Hope you get some sleep this week!

  8. Rover is so cute. He will get bigger. We went with an adult rescue because we are not good puppy trainers. I hope Rover learns very quickly.

  16. Ah... what a little poppet! And I think the name perfectly suits him - even better, it will suit him when he's adult, too:)). Best of luck with the ensuing hard labour ahead of you - but it will do Will the world of good to get involved in the new addition to the family, I'm sure. I hope your week hasn't involved too many broken nights, Katherine. And thank you so much for your lovely kind comments - I so much appreciated them!
