Friday Linkups: The Liar

It's Friday linkup time!  I'm linking up with the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer, Book Beginnings of Fridays hosted by Rose City Reader, and the Friday 56 hosted by Freda's Voice.

This Week's Blogger Hop Question:
Where do you keep your passwords for all your different sites?

My Answer:
I'm a bit all over the place.  For some sites I keep the passwords remembered on my computer (and am seriously in trouble if my computer "forgets"), there's one password for the organization the kids play soccer through that I keep on my phone because the website is insanely complicated as is the password, and then I have a few sensitive passwords written down but unlabeled scattered about.

This week I'm reading another Nora Roberts.  I had an old Nora Roberts that had been on my TBR stack for far too long last week that I had just started last week.  However, when I went to the library Friday afternoon her newest book was there and I just couldn't resist picking it up.  So I put down Whiskey Beach and set it aside for another time and am now just about to start The Liar.

The Beginning:
In the big house - and Shelby would always think of it as the big house - she sat in her husband's big leather chair at his big, important desk.

My Thoughts:
Her husband doesn't come off as particularly nice here.  I get the impression he's kind of distant and full of himself.

The 56:
And the sign for Mountain Spring Campground, where her brother Forrest had worked one long ago summer, and where he'd gone skinny dipping - and a little more - with Emma Kate Addison, a fact Shelby knew as Emma Kate had been her closest friend, diapers through high school.

My Thoughts:
It sounds like she's coming home and is feeling a bit nostalgic.  I really don't know too much about what this one is about so I'm curious to read it and see what exactly is going on.

So what do you think?  Keep reading?

  3. That is good about the sensitive ones being unlabeled. I need to do that.

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. I keep a few, like library sites, on my computer too.

Shelby's husband must be a big important man!

The beginning of the sentence starts with "And the sign for Mountain Spring Campground" then goes on about Forrest and Emma Kate, but doesn't but doesn't get back to the sign. I'd have to keep reading to find out what's the deal with the sign.

  5. I swear today is my day to promote a great site for passwords. You sound like you really need LASTPASS. It's cheap and you keep all you passwords there. You create one master password and then you are done. I use it. I love it. I recommend you check it out. :)

  6. Pretty much all my passwords are saved on my computer which is not the best way of doing things. I wind up resetting my password a lot! That sounds like an interesting read!

  7. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and those opening lines drew me in...I recall how visual was the description of her husband's office, and how much this tells us about him.

Thanks for sharing...and here's mine: “HOUSE OF GLASS”

  10. Ha! I can NEVER remember passwords!

And I have never even heard of this book so this is great!

  11. You might want to check out LastPass. It's like a bank vault for your usernames and passwords. You can download it to your computer. Everything is encrypted. I always had trouble remembering passwords. My husband is anal about this kind of stuff and very careful.

  13. I've got a signed copy of this one sitting on my bookshelf, and I can't wait to read it. I met Nora Roberts in July at the Romance Writers Conference in NYC. She was so nice and it was one of highlights of my summer. Happy reading, Katherine!

  14. I want to read this one sometime soon. As I recall, the husband isn't wonderful, but I don't remember much else. And I'm married to an IT/security guy. You can imagine about passwords here. But I'll never tell. LOL

  21. I've never read a single Nora Roberts book before (unless you count the one J.D. Robb...).
