It's Sunday Post time! This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.
What I Got:
A Dangerous Duet by Karen Odden - I've been loving historical mysteries lately and this one involving the sister of a Scotland Yard Inspector who is playing piano in a music hall to raise tuition and of course stumbles upon some nefarious goings on. (Blog Tour)
Currently:
Reading: Reason to Doubt by Nancy Cole Silverman and A Wrench in the Works by Kate Carslile
Listening: Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney. I'm having some mixed feelings about this one.
Watching: Caught up on NCIS this week. I forgot how much I enjoy the original!
Off the Blog:
This week was Book Fair at the Tornado's school and I ended up volunteering most days. It was a lot of work but very fun. The Tornado did a Trunk or Treat on Tuesday and then we went Trick or Treating with friends on Halloween night and had a lot of fun. Somehow with all of this I managed to get sick. I actually feel okay but I have a lot of chest pressure, a horrific cough and my voice is on the fritz. It doesn't seem to be getting better but it also isn't getting worse so that's something I guess
On the Blog:
What Happened:
Tuesday: Top Ten Halloween Middle Grade Reads
Wednesday: Ten Creepy Covers
Thursday: Tasting Italy - Cookbook Review + Recipe
What's Coming Up:
Monday: Reviews from the Children's Section - The Wonderful Wizard of OzTuesday: TBD
Wednesday: Snowfall on Lighthouse Lane - Contemporary Romance Review
Thursday: Reason to Doubt - Cozy Mystery Review
Friday: Friday Linkups with Current Book
Saturday: A Wrench in the Works - Cozy Mystery Review
Have a great week and happy reading!
I really enjoyed Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk. I've also been eyeing Snowfall on Lighthouse Lane.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and thanks for sharing.
Glad you had a nice Halloween! It was nice here too, and surprisingly warm. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteYou've had a busy time, time to rest up and recover and be well again. Rest and read!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to read your sick. I hope you'll be able to rest a little and feel better soon. ;)
ReplyDeleteA Dangerous Duet looks exciting.
Apologies if this is a duplicate comment as I'm having issues. A book fair sounds fun, and a great place to do your volunteering stint. And yes to historical mysteries from me too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon and get some rest. I try to avoid people in winter to stay away from the bugs and viruses!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your Wizard of Oz review. I hope The Tornado hauled some good candy you can pilfer. Ha ha. Get well soon and have a wonderful week. 🌞
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great halloween, we did a quiet one since the kids didn't really want to go out. Sorry you aren't feeling well, my allergies have been kicking my butt the last few months. It could be a mix of the cats and weird weather. I hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Katherine! Get lots of Rest! Happy Reading! :)
Yeay for trick or treating! It sucks you got ill, though. Speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you've gone down with the 'lergy like a sack of spuds because you are basically exhausted... Do take a bit of time to look after yourself, Katherine. And hopefully, the coming week is more restful...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're feeling bad. I was deathly ill at the beginning of the year and this year I plan on avoiding all the holiday peeps to stay healthy.

Hope you are doing better now. I suppose it is due to the changing weather. Have a good week ahead.

Sorry you've been sick, but glad you helped out with the book fair. I used to love doing that. Hope this week is a better one healthwise.
ReplyDeleteThat one book you got sounds really good, I love historical mysteries! Sounds like you had a good week and The Tornado made a good haul with candy. :)

I loved doing trunk or treats when my girls were young. It was really cute and loved how they decorated the cars. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary #SundayRoundup #43!
Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteTrunk or Treat sounds fun. I never did that. Sorry you are feeling so poorly and hope you recovery quickly.

Volunteering at a Book Fair sounds really fun! Hope you feel better soon ♥️
ReplyDeleteThank goodness your cold isn't getting worse, but it sounds like you're still pretty miserable. I hope you feel better soon. Where I live there are no kids, so I didn't get to give out candy or see any of them dressed up. It was cool to see the people from Good Morning America, Rachel Ray, The Price is Right, The Talk and Kelly and Ryan dress up. Some of the costumes that people come up with always fascinate me. I'm glad you guys had so much fun. Hugs and Happy Monday! RO
ReplyDeleteA Dangerous Duet looks so good. Love that cover. Sounds like yall have had quite a November already. Boo on getting sick, though :(
ReplyDeleteMy comments started to post without avatars on Blogger last week, and then this week I found out my comments disappeared from all Blogger blogs. I figured out that Blogger had disconnected my blog profile from my commenting and was trying to force me to link it to my Google+ profile, but I like it linked to my blog because then the comment link goes straight there. Anyway, I didn't want you to think I wasn't commenting. I seem to have it straightened out now, and the comments are back. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
ReplyDeleteI hope the Tornado got a lot of good candy! 🍫🍬🍭
I hope you are feeling better. I caught something similar and I thought I was going to pass out when I went to vote. 😛
I hope you saw the doctor. It seemed like you were really suffering with that cold. Yay for book fair volunteers; that fair is a lot of work.
