Friday Linkups - The Seven Sisters

It's Friday linkup time!  I'm linking up with the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer, Book Beginnings of Fridays hosted by Rose City Reader, and the Friday 56 hosted by Freda's Voice

This Week's Book Blogger Hope Question:When meeting with friends, do your discussions usually turn to books?

My Answer:
Not really.  I don't know all that many people who really read and the subject doesn't really come up.

This week's book is The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley.  I've been wanting to read this book since it first came out.  I'm about halfway through and so far am really enjoying it.

The Beginning:
I will always remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard that my father had died.

My Thoughts:
This does seem like it would be a pivotal moment in your life so I can easily see this being the case.

The 56:
"Never let your fear decide your destiny"
I knew then that the seven words Pa Salt had left me could not described me and who I was anymore accurately.

My Thoughts:
I'm not sure I'd really want to hear this about myself - especially if it was delivered by someone so close to me.

So what do you think?  Keep reading?

  2. I haven't heard of this book before. I hope you enjoy it. I usually confine my talks about books to my blogs and online life. I'm featuring Falling Star by Terri Osburn - a romance from my review stack - this week. Happy reading!

  9. Chatting books - well, I have my book group friends - two groups - those are lovely times. I also talk about books with my husband sometimes or my daughter, but not so much other friends. I'm a little obsessed for most of them. And then there are my friends from the blogging world and also pre-blogging times. Those (all of you) are 'my people'. You guys understand. LOL

  16. I have a copy of The Seven Sisters but haven't read it. I really want to though.

I can't say that many of my conversations with others turn to books either.

  18. Same with me and the IRL friends. They might ask me what I'm reading, or tell me what they are reading, but there is really no discussion. :)

  19. I ask people IRL what they're reading but that's about as far as it goes. TG for book blogs, GR, etc!
I read one of the other books in the Seven Sisters series. It was good so I hope you enjoy this one.

  24. Sometimes but not all the time. Most of my friends know I write as a hobby, and some even share our content with each other. We talk about the popular books, like Harry Potter, hardly about Twilight, love triangles, and other general book ideas. But since we hardly see each other regularly, we mostly catch up with our daily lives. We're all book fans and book lovers, but we hardly find opportunities to talk books unless it's something we've all read. My BBH
