This Week in Reading - November 10

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Lady Takes the Case by Eliza Casey - This is the first in a new series and I'm really looking forward to it.  I love historical mysteries and the cover is gorgeous. (Publisher)

Murder, She Wrote: A Time For Murder by JB Fletcher and Jon Land - I've really enjoyed the Murder, She Wrote books that I've tried.  It sounds like there are flashbacks to Jessica's early married life in this one so I'm really curious about how it goes.  (Publisher)

The Dog Who Knew Too Much by Krista Davis - I haven't read too much by this author but I like the title and I'm looking forward to it.  (Publisher)

Currently:

Reading:  Owl Be Home for Christmas by Donna Andrews and Shattered Silk by Barbara Michaels

Listening:
Just starting Hunting Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco but am not far enough in to have an opinion.

Watching:  I've been catching up on this season of NCIS and so far I'm enjoying it.  Not sure about the whole Ziva thing but other then that I'm enjoying it.

Off the Blog:

It decided to be cold this week and I'm not a fan.  I was definitely not prepared for it!  I've seen people with pictures of snow and all that which seems even worse but I'm struggling enough with temps in the 50s.  I think snow at this point would send me into hibernation!

On the Blog:

  1. Temps in the 50's is cold, that's are cold kind of winter, we rarely go beyond that but I wish we did!! All new books to me but love the title of the one you are reading at present. So clever.

  2. Yes, the snow is no fun haha although to be honest we've only had a dusting, so it's not bad. It's cold though! Brrr.

I love that cover of Lady Takes The Case! I definitely need to check that series out!

  3. Sometimes, hibernations sounds very compelling :) It's not all that cold here yet, but today it's raining and all gray, so hopefully, I'll get some work done.
I haven't read any Murder She Wrote books, are they the same (or based on) the TV series?
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  5. It's been pretty cold here this week but normal for November. I'm waiting in this coming week for Amazon packages so if it snows as forecast, I don't care!

  6. It's been colder here than usual for November. It's not fun at all! I could do with hibernating at the moment...

  7. It's been relatively mild for us - only a few early-morning frosts so far, but the rain has been coming down in torrents and the ground is saturated. I hope it isn't too cold for you - I DREAD the winter weather. The cover for Lady Takes the Case is splendid - I hope you enjoy it, Katherine.

  9. These seem like some fun reads Katherine. I like cozies this time of year but, yet get distracted and forget to indulge.

  10. I'm out of the loop with all the snow but I'm used to hot hot days so 50's is absolutely freezing for me. I feel for those of you in the North!
    Have a great week! :D

  11. I understand the cold thing, I am ready for spring/summer already! :) I think you will love the Krista Davis series it's one of my favorites! I love Wagtail! That historical mystery is tempting me but I have sworn off getting new series until I can catch up on some. :(

Have a great day and happy reading!

  12. I’m going to binge the first half of the new NCIS season as soon as it’s done. I don’t have the patience any more for weekly episodes lol.

Wishing you a great reading week

  13. Lady Takes the Case does have a lovely cover, and I like the title and cover of Owl Be Home for Christmas, too. It's bouncing between cold (40s) and seasonal (high 50s) here. Last night it dipped below freezing. Even though the temperature in the house is set at 67, somehow it feels colder than that when it's really cold outside. But that makes it a great time to snuggle up in a warm blanket with a hot cup of tea (or cider or hot chocolate) and read a book!

  14. It's much colder here this week but 50s is easy compared to Minnesota. It's the 20s at night I'm struggling with. Today will be 60s but we will have more cold days ahead. I hope you can enjoy sweaters, fires, wool socks and curling up to read. I do! Have a wonderful week!

  18. We've had some hot, muggy 80s here but it is supposed to dip down to the 50s with the 30s at night on Tuesday. Not looking forward to that. LOL

  19. I'm right there with you! Thankfully we only had one really cold day because Dallas can't seem to decide if it's winter, spring, summer or fall. We've had a bit of each this past week lol!

Hope you have a great week & happy reading!

  20. Winter is definitely slowly creeping in. The temperatures sure are colder here, and I'm seeing all the festive books starting to be mentioned on blogs.. And let's not even talk about how Christmas is already being pushed in the shops!

I hope you have a lovely week & happy reading :-)

  21. Cold here too; so I'm piling on clothes while I'm in the house b/c it's colder and been favoring my calf length socks to not have a gap with my usual no-shows.
