Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases for the Rest of 2016

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic from The Broke and the Bookish is Most Anticipated Releases for the Rest of 2016.  I'm not the best about paying attention to release dates unless I actually have the book for review but these 10 have definitely landed on my radar and I'm looking forward to reading them!

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware - I'm so excited to get my hands on this book!  I LOVED In a Dark Dark Wood and the blurb on this sounds amazing.

The Bay of Sighs by Nora Roberts - I loved the first one in this series and am really excited about this next book.  I'm curious to see what Roberts does with Annika.

The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumar - I'm not a huge Schumar fan but I do find her funny occasionally and I've had good luck with these kind of memoirs.  I'm hoping that it's available on audio pretty soon!

Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs - I read and really enjoyed Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and while I haven't gotten to the other two in the series I was really excited to see this book of pre-Miss Peregrine tales.  Plus the cover is gorgeous.

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles - This caught my eye earlier this year on a list of upcoming releases.  I haven't read this author before but I'm absolutely fascinated with the concept.  It's the story of Count Alexander Rostov who is sentenced to house arrest in a grand hotel across from the Kremlin in the early 1920s.  It sounds so fascinating!

Dead, Bath and Beyond by Lorraine Bartlett - This new book in the Victoria Square series comes out in December and it's a cozy mystery series that I really enjoy.  Plus, I just love the pun-ny title!

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo - I'm fascinated by the Jack the Ripper stories and this one sounds so good!

Solutions and Other Problems by Allie Brosh - I'm not sure I'll believe this book is happening until it is actually in my hands because the publication date has been pushed back multiple times and for over a year.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that October 2016 really will be the date because I want more from Allie Brosh!

The Life She Wants by Robyn Carr - I'm so excited about this book that comes out at the end of September.  It kind of reminds me of the whole Bernie Madoff scandal and seeing a story from the wife's perspective really intrigues me.  It doesn't hurt that I've loved everything I've read by Robyn Carr so far.

Cooking for Jeffrey: A Barefoot Contessa Cookbook by Ina Garten - I've found Garten's cookbooks to be the most reliably delicious ones  I own and over the years I've come to love her husband Jeffrey who she mentions a pretty good bit.  I'm thrilled to see this one that focuses on him.  Plus, I'm just looking forward to trying some new Barefoot Contessa recipes!

What upcoming books are you looking forward to getting your hands on?

  1. God I totally forgot about the Woman in Cabin 10!! I will probably try for the audio there since I loved her last book on audio. I will totally check out the audio for Amy Schumar's book. I bet it is hilarious. Great list!!

  2. I like the Barefoot Contessa, will look for that one. Upcoming release of Tana French's new book The Trespassers is high on my list. Love the Dublin Murder Squad series. Recently, just released, is Justin Cronin's third book City of Mirrors. My husband just bought that through Kindle, I can borrow his Kindle when I am ready.

    Great list, Katherine.

  3. So many I am waiting for also! The Woman in Cabin 10, Bay of Sighs (and her previous book), Stalking Jack the Ripper, and Ina Garten one of my top chefs to watch on tv and read her cookbooks! We're on the same wavelength this week, and I'm not familiar with the others yet. Enjoy them if you get them all.

  4. I'm not so great with release dates, either. Usually I only pay attention to the books that I am SUPER excited for. I didn't even make it to ten this week.

I still have to read the Miss Peregrine books. I really want to, I just haven't gotten there. I feel like I should have that tattooed somewhere. :)

  5. The Woman in Cabin 10 looks awesome! And I'm kind of excited for the Miss Peregrine's movie- I don't know if I'll read the books (I looked at the first one and it didn't look like my thing ) but the movie looks fun. And Dead, Bath and Beyond just cracks me up!

  7. I have to say I loved Annika in Bay of Sighs, she is so beautiful and delightful. I have the Robyn Carr book to read and review. I didn't even look at what it was about - it was written by her and that's enough for me!

  9. I didn't participate in the top ten today. I am not sure I could narrow the list down. I know we have a freebie week coming up. Maybe I'll make my list then. The Woman in Cabin 10 and Stalking Jack the Ripper from your list especially caught my eye.

  19. I started Ware's first book and never finished for some reason. I need to do that and then read her newest. Psychological thrillers are my favorite! I'm also excited for the new Peculiars book. Like you, I also love everything Robyn Carr writes. She's a wonderful writer and a very sweet person!
