I always have a few books going. Here is what I'm reading and what I'm thinking about them.
Print Book:
Heirs and Graces by Rhys Bowen - This is a series where I read the beginning few and I've read the most recent few and am slowly catching up on the books in the middle. I'm about halfway done with this one and enjoying it though the character of Queenie drives me mad.
Up Next: I'm not sure - maybe the October Christie read. I'm in the mood for a classic mystery.
Ebook:
Murder on a Scottish Train by Lucy Connolly - I've really been enjoying this series that is somewhere in between cozy and straightforward mystery. This one has been especially enjoyable so far.
Up Next: O, Deadly Night by Vicki Delany - It seems a bit early for Christmas cozies but the publishing companies say otherwise!
Audio Book:
The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill - So far I'm about halfway through and really enjoying it. I suspect that it's a book that lives or dies on the ending so I'm not sure what I'll end up rating it but so far so good.
Up Next: I'll listen to the next episodes of the podcasts I've been enjoying: Unicorn Girl and Who Took Misty Copsey? and then I'll pull a title from my Audio TBR Jar.
Slow Read:
The Collector's Apprentice by B.A. Paris - I'm not very far into it but so far I'm enjoying it. I like the main character and 1920s Paris is hard to beat.
Up Next: It'll be awhile and I just started this one so I'm not entirely sure but I'm thinking All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot

ReplyDeleteYou’ve got a wonderful variety of books on the go. I like the sound of Murder on a Scottish Train, and The Woman in the Library is one I’ve been curious about too. I hope the ending holds up for you. All Creatures Great and Small would make a perfect follow up to your slow read.
ReplyDeleteThe only one of these listed that I've read is The Woman In The Library. I remember liking that one. And I had been to that library in real life and could picture it in my mind. Nice, right? Enjoy all the books!

Nice that you have so many good books going. I just DNFed the last two books I started. I hope this isn't the beginning of a slump.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed THE WOMEN IN THE LIBRARY. The killer didn't surprise me, but that didn't matter because the book was so entertaining otherwise. I want to start the Royal Spyness series. It sounds like fun. I hadn't heard of the Connelly series, but it sounds right up my alley. The Delany series is one I mentioned in my TTT list this week because it's another one I want to start.
ReplyDeleteA while back I gave up on the Royal Spyness series because I have a serious issue with the way the author wrote every single gay character. Lately though I've decided to give them another go because I really do love Georgie.

ReplyDeleteI'll be so glad to finish War and Peace and then be able to take on some different slow reads. Yes Queenie drives me mad - she must be one of the most annoying characters in fiction. She'd be on the list at least!
