Life With Leukemia (And Some Reading) - March 7

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

This was a relatively quiet week.  Will had his regularly scheduled chemo appointment with none of the chaos of the last few weeks when his medicine was affected by Memphis being a block of ice.  His energy level is super super low but I'm starting to see signs of perking up which make us all happy.  February was mentally exhausting on all of us and physically exhausting on him so I'm hoping March is a bit calmer and we are able to get into somewhat of a routine again.

In an effort to get back on track I'm doing Yoga With Adriene's March calendar which has been fun and a nice push out of my comfort zone.  The weather is supposed to be really nice and the mosquitos aren't here yet so I might even go outside some.  I have grand plans to make Will come sit out on the deck with me and we can do school outside but I'm not sure that'll happen.

Currently:

Reading:
Greygallows by Barbara Michaels and Picture Perfect Frame by Lynn Cahoon

Listening: God of the Hive by Laurie R. King

Watching:  I've been binging Snapped lately.  I found an episode that featured a local case and then the next one came on and I've just been letting it play.  My husband's started giving me some side eye but it's mostly just background noise.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  1. I'm glad to hear things are a little better on the chemo front. February sounds like it was a tough month and I hope the new one is better. Yoga w/ Adrienne sounds good, I've seen you mention her before and sounds like a neat program.

I hope you guys get to do some outside school. :)

  2. Yoga is a good idea. She is a bit too hard for me, but I have found a walking/stretching one that more suits my age ability with a daughter/mother duo, and I just need to Do It! I am assuming Snapped is some kind of crime show!

  3. I hope you guys can get outside and enjoy some spring-like weather. As much as I love gothics, I've never read Barbara Michaels before! Greygallows sounds good.

  4. I am glad to hear Will is perking up some. I really feel for him. Hopefully you can get his outside for a bit. The weather here has been pleasant too. Although our allergies are starting to rear their ugly heads. I hope you are enjoying your reading. God of the Hive sounds good. Have a great week!

  7. I'm really pleased that you are able to settle back into a routine and that Will looks to be rallying after the latest round of treatment. Hopefully that will coincide with an improvement in the weather. Being able to sit outside and do his lessons sounds like a lovely idea - as does the Yoga. I hope the coming week is a peaceful one:).

  12. I hope Will's energy levels are better in March... and that you can have some outdoor time together. Yoga with Adrienne sounds really enjoyable. I tried her absolute beginner class and enjoyed it. Yoga is something I've wanted to do, so if I can carve out the time, I may add her classes to the Body Groove workout I'm trying to do.

  14. I hope the fresh air and warmer temps of spring help to aliviate Will's fatigue and his spirits. Chemo for such an extended time is a loooonggggg slog and you are all doing a great job moving through this time.

  16. I hope Will’s energy starts to increase as the month continues. I’m dabbling in Blogilates, I’m still aching from doing some ab exercises two days ago. That was a beginners video!

    Have a lovely week!

  18. I'm sorry February was such a rough month. I see how slowed down animals get in winter, and I wonder why we humans don't slow down more than we do.

  19. Glad your week has been slightly calmer, hoping Will gets more energy this week. Since my YOGA ended last March when the center closed I've been a bit of a yoga slacker, yes I do some bends and stretches here and there but none of the (1)hour sessions I had been into 3x a week. Take care Katherine - wishing you a calm week.

  25. I'm glad to hear that Will is perking up. It's hard those days after the treatment. Hope March continues on the up and up and sending you more cheers and happy vibes along.

  26. We're still getting some pretty cold days so no sign of warmer weather here yet. Still at least all the fences are intact which is a relief!
