It's Sunday Post time! This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.
This week was actually pretty good. Will is feeling better and the side effects that were giving him such trouble are fading. This week's cocktail of meds didn't have nearly the same issues for him which was good. It'll be a month or two before that combination comes around again so we are enjoying the break.
We are trying to decide what we are going to do for Halloween. He doesn't want to wear a costume because of skin sensitivity but even without that issue I'm not sure what we would do anyway. St Jude will do a few things during the week while we are there for regular visits so hopefully he will enjoy that and the current plan is to play Animal Crossing and eat candy in our pajamas.
I've been in a bit of a reading slump this week. It's mostly from just being tired I think as I do like what I'm reading I'm just not actually feeling like reading at the moment.
Hope his lip will heal soon, as though you didn't have enough. Being tired sure can play havoc with reading mojo and it is easier to do viewing when it happens. It will return!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that Will is feeling better and that the nasty side effects are fading. I hope this week coming up is a good one for you guys! Halloween is looking iffy here too obviously with the pandemic, so we're going to just probably have a quiet family night too. Your idea of Animal Crossing and candy sounds pretty good!
ReplyDeleteBe well this week!
Yay to Will feeling better and everyone getting a mini break. Eating candy in pajamas sure sounds like fun to me! Like you, I've been reading, but it's been a little iffy for me lately. I love con movies so when I found out Whoopie was doing the announcing for the new documentary The Con, I was all in! I agree that it's totally fascinating to watch the levels of deception that people will use in order to maintain a certain lifestyle, and the fact that they hurt people who trust them. Of course you know that Lifetime and The Hallmark Channel came back this weekend with Christmas movies! Yay! Be well and stay safe. Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteI’m glad Will is feeling better. I like the video games and candy plan. That’s pretty much what I’ll be doing on Halloween. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I’m glad he is having a better week, Maybe a candy scavenger hunt around the house would be an option?
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week, be kind to yourself x
I'm glad Will had a better week... and hope he enjoys the Halloween activities you have planned!
ReplyDeleteYou have reason to be in a reading slump with all that has been going on. I'm glad your son had a better week.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like Shelleyrae's idea of a scavenger hunt! Stay well and have another good week!
ReplyDeleteI am glad he is having a break from the meds that were troublesome. Enjoy the Halloween activities...and your time together.
ReplyDeleteGlad Will is recovering from the gruelling round of meds he's needed to take... I saw online a fun drone that is hand-controlled suitable to be flown indoors, to add to the pyjamas and candy session! As for your reading slump - I'm sure you're right that you're exhausted... They are miserable, but hopefully it will pass soon! Wishing you and Will all the best. Take care.x
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Will is feeling better! I read that some people are doing night time Halloween Easter Egg hunts in their yard for something different to do, putting candy in the eggs. You could use glow in the dark paint to decorate them? But eating candy and playing video games sounds fantastic too! Have fun and try to relax, whatever you end up doing this week.
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you got to enjoy a good week.
ReplyDeleteMy 11yo announced that she wants to trick-or-treat with friends only this year (no mom), so the rest of us are going to put a bowl of candy on our porch, turn out the lights, and hang out inside. I'm not a big Halloween fan anyway, so this plan suits me just fine!
I'm so glad that your son is doing better. I like the idea of hanging around and watching something good and relaxing and eating candy for Halloween. We are going to put out a bowl of candy near my Little Free Library and then watch from the porch.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear Will is feeling better and your week passed relatively well - I wish you the same for this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear Will is doing better. I hope it continues and you all have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Will is feeling a bit better. I think your Halloween plans sound great! We got candy and individual treat bags, and I plan to prefill the treat bags and leave them out for the trick-or-treaters (assuming anyone comes.) But either I will put the treat bags on a table at the end of the driveway while I stay on the porch, or I'll put them on the porch and stay in the house -- depending on the weather. Later in the evening, I'll put on my PJs and watch Harry Potter movies. :-)
ReplyDeleteHalloween here is never a special event but I'll use the excuse to watch TV and eat junk as well! Glad it was a better week for Will!
ReplyDeleteThat’s great news he is feeling better, I think the eating sweets and playing Animal Crossing is a sensible idea! Halloween is pretty much cancelled here, our first minister has advised against it.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!
Eating candy in PJs sounds like great fun to me! 🎃
ReplyDeleteGlad he's feeling better. His plans for now sound fun.
