This Week in Reading - May 19

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

A Beach Wish by Shelley Noble - I'm still relatively new to Shelley Noble but I've loved the books I've read from her so I'm really excited about this one.  (Blog Tour)

The House on Hallowed Ground by Nancy Cole Silverman - I've really enjoyed Silverman's Carol Childs series and I'm really excited about this series featuring a reoccurring character who is also a psychic.

A Bitter Feast by Deborah Crombie - I love Crombie's police procedural series and am excited to read this newest one.  (Edelweiss)

Project Duchess by Sabrina Jeffries - I love Sabrina Jeffries so there was no way I was passing up this newest historical romance from her.

No More Time by Suzanne Trauth - I've been wanting to read this author for awhile and this cozy mystery involving a restaurant manager looks really fun.  (Author)

Currently:

Reading: Mistress of the Ritz by Melanie Benjamin and Taken at the Flood by Agatha Christie

Listening:  Blackberry Summer by RaeAnne Thayne

Watching:  We watched the series finale of The Big Bang Theory and Sheldon's speech killed me at the end.  We've been watching the series since the beginning and I'm sad to see it go though I do think it was time and I loved the way it ended.

Off the Blog:

I'm feeling better thankfully.  The weather is nice and my allergies are under control so everything is happy again.  Today I'm hoping to get some tomato plants in the ground.  It's a little late but hopefully better late than never.  I'd like to add in some herbs but we'll see how it goes. I didn't grow anything last year and I'm hoping to take some baby steps back into gardening this year.  Fingers crossed I get lots of delicious tomatoes.

Last week was the Tornado's last full week of school (we get out really early but go back  which ended with Field Day which means about 800 kids are floating on sugar highs, exhausted from spending all day running around outside, and slightly sunburned because there is no sunscreen that can fully protect you from Field Day.  This weekend is pretty low key partly because of that and because sometimes low key weekends are just what you need!

  1. Yummy tomatoes! We didn't really grow anything last year either, hopefully this year we'll do better. :) Good luck with yours! And hard to believe school is out or will be (about a month left here- actually less now that I think about it). Crazy how fast time flies!

    Have a super week!

  2. Good to hear you are feeling a little better. I think it shouldn't hurt the tomatoes being a little late, they'll take off. I've enjoyed the couple of books I've read by Shelley Noble too. Funny I didn't like Blackberry Summer - it almost put me off RaeAnne Thayne but thankfully I tried her again and liked what I read.

  3. I have not watched TBBT in a while and maybe just the ending is what I need to watch. I used to love field days myself, but I can understand they can be hard when you are parent.

  5. Glad to hear that you are recovering from all those grotty headaches and I hope your summer break with the Tornado is loads of fun. As for the tomatoes - it's amazing how nature manages to balance things out - they will probably thrive just the same and there's nothing like home-grown tomatoes... Have a great week, Katherine:)

  6. I love tomatoes and want to start a garden soon. I want to read A Beach Wish, I like the family secrets aspect. I started watching The Big Bang Theory from the first episode and am so sad it's ended. I loved the last two episodes though, the writters did a great job!

  10. I'm not sure what soil you have but Basil is good grown with tomatoes - helps to keep the bugs away and delicious too.
I'm glad you're allergies are under control, Katherine and hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

  13. Up here there are usually new growth unripened tomatoes left to be picked when the first frost hits, so you should be okay with the late planting. I always have great luck with regular green basil and it's so easy to freeze in olive oil, or make into pesto to freeze the extra. There's nothing better than pizza with fresh basil on it! 🍕✨

Happy to hear you are feeling better. 👍✨

    Have a wonderful week. 🌞

  15. Ohh, I still need to watch this series of Big Bang Theory in it's entirety! I was at work when the last one aired, and my husband called me wanting to tell me how it went! NOPE. It's killing him to have to wait on me, lol.
