It's Sunday Post time! This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.
What I Got:
Snowflake Bay by Donna Kauffman - I really enjoyed her earlier series and have been really looking forward to her new Brides of Blueberry Cove series. I already have the 1st book in the series so I thought why not and went on and grabbed the 2nd! We'll ignore the fact that I haven't technically read the 1st book. (NetGalley)
All Wrapped Up by Kimberly Kincaid - I absolutely loved the previous book in the Pine River series and that was a novella so I'm excited to see what she can do with a full length book. (NetGalley)
Gone But Knot Forgotten by Mary Marks - This is for a blog tour in September and it's a cozy mystery I'm really excited about. It's a quilting theme and apparently there's a closet full of skeletons. Both real and metaphorical. It looks really fun! (Blog Tour)
The holiday books showing up on NetGalley are kind of killing me! I'm trying not to over request as I got so burned out on them last year but they're all so tempting.

Currently:
Reading: Crushed Velvet by Diane Vallere and Let Me Tell You by Shirley Jackson
Listening: Still nothing but something's coming soon!
Watching: Sadly, HGTV isn't playing any more Tiny House Hunters right now I have to wait to yell at more people horrified that there's no sink in the bathroom and that they'll have to use the kitchen sink. Seriously, you can stand in the bathroom and reach the kitchen sink, time to get past it. I'm currently celebrating that Netflix has NCIS on streaming and am doing some binging!
Off the Blog:
For the first time we got two tuition bills - one for Eleanor and one for Emma. That was a bit shocking! This weekend was all about getting Emma's dorm stuff together as she'll be leaving in 2 weeks. Paul starts school tomorrow so we found him a backpack and some stuff but luckily we haven't had any crazy school supply lists. As for me I'm currently working on To Do list for when the Tornado goes back to school next week. .
I've gotten obsessed with hidden object games! I used to play them years ago but kind of pushed them aside and forgot about them when I got a little busier. I've recently just found them again and have been having the best time. They have several Agatha Christie games (the screenshot to the left is from Death on the Nile), a Nora Roberts and just a whole host of others. If you go to Big Fish Games you can download them and get an hour long trial for free.

Have a great week and happy reading!
I was just thinking of christmas books , I don't do Netgalley so I haven't been inundated with them, but I know they're going to be popping up. I hope there's some good ones although it weird to be thinking of Christmas already! I've been all over Netflix this week, started Arrow and wantd to try another show too, but it's not on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteSome of those games are a blast! I was doing an underwater one on my nook with this funky music, but there weren't enough levels after a while. Fun though. They are addicting...
I have enjoyed those Beyond the Books posts. And I forgot to tell you last week that I was approved for Good Mourning on Netgally. I can hardly believe your kids go back to school so early. When do they get out for the summer? Have a wonderful week. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for the Kincaid read. Love her. Gah on the two tuitions. I can imagine that would be bit of a shock for sure.
ReplyDeleteDonna Kauffmans book looks great - love the cover. I enjoyed some of the Blueberry Cove books too. The Hidden Objects game looks fun, I think something like that that absorbs us for awhile is great when we need a break from blogging and reading! For me jigsaws and sudoko are the in things.
ReplyDeleteOh yikes, tuition bills are reality checks. Colleges do not play around sending those out quickly. I was wondering why that author sounded familiar. I thought I read a book of hers because of your review but I have on my TBR her cupcake series. Did you read that one?
ReplyDeleteYeah, tuition bills *sighs* not fun!
ReplyDeleteSnowflake Bay looks cute, the cover is gorgeous! I hope you'll enjoy it.
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

Oh man! TWO bills for college. That must have been a shocker! You need a drink to go with the hidden object games. The last ones I saw were in HiLights Magazine.
ReplyDeleteMy second son is about to experience two bills for college. His first son is starting his third year, but his daughter begins her freshman year this fall.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't seem worried...but that's him. Always in control. I envy that! LOL
I like the Beyond the Books feature, but haven't participated since my house guest arrived. I'll be checking out your link.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.
I used to play those hidden object games on Facebook, I always found them relaxing and I love the themed ones. Enjoy your books, I'm smirking at the title Gone But Knot Forgotten! Two tuition bills sounds like a scary experience! I knew there was a silver lining to having no kids! :)
ReplyDeleteThose tiny houses are cool..I would need a totally digital library though. NCIS rocks. I am loving the holiday books. :) Enjoy your week my friend
ReplyDeleteI saw all the Holiday romance books pop up as well. Right now I think I've got two. But like you last year, I didn't actually read the ones I got last year. Sooooo probably best I don't request any others.
ReplyDeleteTwo tuition bills. Ugh. So sorry for you. Best have some good food to forget about them. Lol
My son is eight, so I'm a few years away from having to worry about that. Oh, hidden object games!! I"m obsessed with Midnight Castle, but I definitely need to investigate the Agatha Christie ones. Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteI love cozies so I went and checked out that one by Mary Marks and got the first one since it was only 1.99. :) Enjoy your new reads and the fun filled time of getting ready for back to school. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the final start of school preparations! I hope everything goes well for all your kids. I was really into those hidden object games for a while too. I've gotten back into Suduko recently--I could play all day if I let myself.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week, Katherine!
A Nora Roberts game? Oh, tempting!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to stay off of NetGalley except for adding reviews. Are there a lot of holiday titles already? Eeeep. *chants, don't look, don't look, don't look*
Two tuition bills, omg. I remember when my father had three of us in school;I don't know how he did it. More power to you!
Have a great week!
Netflix and NetGalley are my weak points. I don't know how many shows I have on Netflix's I have I bing A LOT! NetGalley if I could I would be requesting all suspense, mystery, crime, paranormal, horror book they have on there! I would be really overloaded with books then!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Sunday Post
Looking forward to your Top Ten Fairy Tale Retellings. I'm going to be checking you recipes posts too! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to figure out the audio books thing from the library to listen to in my car. I don't want to pay anyone for the audio books. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Sunday Post
Will have to check out the Pine River series. Eek on the tuition bills, only one of my boys went to university, the other did a trade but most young people here use the HEX debt system the government has in place and pay their uni bill back when they begin earning over $50,000 per year lol. Not sure whether it's the same in the US?
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and enjoy your new reads :)
lol - Your Tiny House rant. I saw an episode of that I think, but they were looking for a tiny apartment in NY. Ugh, I am so happy I only have to worry about one tuition, because it sucks even with scholarship help. Have a great week and enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteI love hidden object games, I can't remember the name of the one I play on my kindle but it has a man wearing a strange top hat as its logo, anyway I love it but try not to play too long as it distracts me from reading!!

I read and reviewed the first Brides of BB Cove when it came out. Hoping to get my hands on snowflakes soon.
