This Week in Reading - January 4

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Nothing Yet!  I did place an order over at Thrift Books but since they haven't arrived it doesn't count.

Currently:

Reading:  Someone to Care by Mary Balogh and The Shop on Hidden Lane by Jayne Ann Krentz

Slow Read:  Brought to Book by Antonia Fraser

Listening:  The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst

Watching:  911, Lone Star 911, and VERY slowly Death in Paradise on BritBox.  I'm watching this one with my husband and we watch an episode or 2 a week so it's taking us awhile.

Off the Blog:

2026 is off to a quiet start which is heavenly.  I'm loving my books and have been enjoying all the TV I'm watching.  Tomorrow I'm back to my regular life and it'll be good to be back to routine though I do enjoy the slower pace of between the holidays.

I have two non-bookish projects going for this first quarter.  The first is to get my office organized and decorated in a way that makes me happy and is useful.  I'm also trying to get all of my favorite recipes in one location to make things easier.  It's slow going but it'll be nice when it's done.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  1. I hope your books arrive soon! It does not seem right that you have no books to read from the holiday season.

Enjoy your week, especially reorganizing your office.

  2. If you are like us nothing much happens between Christmas and New Year and certainly the post goes on holiday too. However I like the books you have chosen to start up the year. Hope you get your office organised and recipes sorted.

  3. Good to hear you had a nice holiday break. I put all my recipes in Mastercook at one time but they went from a one-time purchase to an annual fee (not cheap) to have everything on the cloud. So now I use the old version, plus a bunch of folders of online recipes saved as .pdf and printed recipes in 3 ring binders by category. I may need to update that system. Happy New Year!

  4. I have to return to 'real' life tomorrow, too, and I'm not sure I'm ready. I'd like another week or two of winter break. ;D

  5. Organising my recipes should be on my list too. I have tried numerous apps but never found one I’ve been really happy with. Most of mine are just in my notes on my iPad in folder I imaginatively call Recipes lol

Wishing you a happy reading week

  6. Like Northwoman I use a pretty three ring binder and those plastic sleeves. I have tabs for beef, pasta, desserts, etc. We have so many chicken recipes that it gets it's own binder, lol. The plastic sleeves are nice because you can put the recipe donw on the counter and if something spills on it, it wipes off.

Reorganizing your office can be fun, make it efficeint and warm. Oh, I have managed to resist Thriftbooks for a while but not sure how much longer i can last!
