This Week in Reading: June 9

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Nothing!  I've had a few weeks of full to the brim mailboxes so it's nice to have an empty week.

Currently:

Reading:  Death in Kew Gardens by Jennifer Ashley

ListeningMeet Me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan but I haven't listened to much this week.

Watching:  I haven't been watching too much TV other than Hallmark movies.  There's a checklist app that has me more than a little addicted and wanting to watch more so I can check them off.

Off the Blog:

This week was a bit crazy though not too bad.  I started physical therapy for my neck and had a follow up with my doctor.  The term degenerative disc disease really freaked me out but it doesn't sound like it's going to be too much of an issue.  A lot of the pain I was having was due to the fact that all the muscles around my neck are a complete disaster but the physical therapy really seems like it will help.  Unfortunately it's 3 times a week and between that and school being out and a few other things I'm just kind of dashing from one thing to another without getting much of anything done.

On the Blog:

Tuesday:  Top Ten Tuesday - Unpopular Opinions

Have a great week and happy reading!

  1. Good luck with the physical therapy! That's great news that it will be able to help so much. And Hallmark movies sound fun. :)

I've been seeing Death in Kew Gardens around a little bit and I didn't realize that it was part of the same series at Death Below Stairs- I still need to read that!

  4. I'm happy you decided to go to therapy. Hopefully it will start helping quickly and you won't have to go as often. 👍✨

One of these weeks I'll get zero books! Ha ha. 😁

  6. PT can be time-consuming, but it's really worth it. It made a big difference for my frozen shoulder.

When I saw the book with blank pages, I thought you had bought a new notebook/journal! It's nice to have a week without new books now and then. :-) Have a great week!

  14. I am glad it sounds like the physical therapy will help. I feel you though with three appointments a week with everything else. I am missing the Hallmark channel right now. I've been so down as of late about everything going on in the world. My husband says I need to read more romances. LOL I hope you have a great week!

  16. Hopefully an intense period of PT will be short.
I go through phases when I enjoy binging on Hallmark movies, especially the various mystery series.

    Have a great reading week

  17. My daughter has done a lot of PT over the last 2 years and it does help. Although, she has to do her part at home and now that she knows the exercises she doesn't need to go there, she just has to do the exercises. With her other appts, college classes and me working it was just too much so I quite working. It's still hard to accomplish enough.
Have a great week and I hope you feel much better.

  18. I hope the PT doers you a lot of good. Don't you hate when your normally smooth schedule gets out of whack? I know you miss the reading and I'm glad you can do audio books.
I'm done with The Distant Hours now. Did you finish yet? I don't want to say any spoilers!

  19. I was addicted to Hallmark movies during the Christmas time, but I've gotten away from them lately. I'll probably go back this summer. Hope you have a great week!

  20. So sorry to read about your neck issues; hope PT helps. My SIL has a similar problem but she's probably a few decades older than you I'm guessing.

  21. It sounds like you're getting the help needed for your neck, which is great, but I'm sure life slowing down a little would be nice too... Especially with summer coming up!

Happy reading and a wonderful week to you!
