Do you take notes about the book you're reading as you read?
My Answer:
Not really. If there is a particular detail I know I want to remember for a review - normally a particular spelling or location - I might right it down but that's about it.

I blame Connie Van Hooten for everything.
My Thoughts:
I like this beginning! Just who is Connie Van Hooten and what is this everything that she needs to be blamed for?
The 56:
Ah, yes. What's a missing éclair compared to the joy of watching Lydia's face when she opens her Secret Santa gift and sees those Yakity Yak false teeth chattering away?
My Thoughts:
I think I'd still be hung up on the missing éclair! Who can get past a missing éclair no matter how much joy is floating around?

I don't take notes when I read, but I do usually write my thoughts for a blog post pretty quickly if I'm doing one. By the way, I don't always write a post about every book I read. I also put the title, author, date finished, etc., in my book journal right away. Otherwise, off and away it goes. Ha!

ReplyDeleteI used to take notes as I read, and while I sometimes will highlight or make a note somewhere if it's a print book, it's not as common for me now. Sometimes I think I should, given I'm not always so quick to get to writing my reviews! I hope you love Death of a Neighborhood Scrooge. I would like to read that one as well.

ReplyDeleteI sometimes take notes when I read- just depends on the book I guess. Like you said, usually if I want to remember something for the review- or the sequel.
That's a great question about taking notes. I definitely take notes when reading nonfiction. For fiction books I'm reviewing I find ideas come to me about my upcoming reviews after I've finished and digested a portion of the book and usually when I'm in the car.
