Reading Recap - June 2023

Monthly Recap:

Monthly Reading Count -  19 - I'm hoping in July to beat this number but so far I've been pretty consistent at 19!

Print - 7
Ebook - 7
Audiobook - 5

Mystery -  14
Fiction - 3
Romance - 1
Nonfiction - 1

Favorite Books of the Month:

Favorite Audio: A Murder at Half Moon Gate by Andrea Penrose - I didn't liked but didn't love the first book in this series but I'd seen so many great reviews I had to keep going with it and I'm so glad I did!  I thoroughly enjoyed this second book.

Favorite Read: Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy - This wasn't a perfect read but this was the book I looked forward to picking up the most.  I loved the characters and Binchy's writing style.

Least Favorite Read of the Month:

Come Shell or High Water by Molly MacRae

Where My Books Took Me This Month:

Domestic Travel:  The only new state I visited was Mississippi but I also visited Florida (twice), North Carolina, Arizona, and Vermont.

International Travel: I had a fairly big month internationally.  I visited England 8 times in multiple different time periods, Scotland, France, and Greece.  I also crossed the Atlantic Ocean on the Luisitania.

Where did your books take you this month?  What was your favorite read of the month?

  1. I have not been reading consistently recently, hopping from one book to another, one genre to another. I will finish those books eventually, hopefully. So far, the books have taken me to WWII France, present day Paris, a Scottish island, Seventh Avenue NY, a road trip from the West to the East Coast USA. Enjoy your coming reads.

  4. It looks like England wins for June, though you got in some other wonderful travels, too.

  5. I think I have read one Binchy book, but am not sure. Think I have one of hers in my Audible library and if so might try that soon. Great month, all the best for July.

  6. It sounds like you had a great reading month. I read one of Binchy's books a long time ago and now wonder why I haven't picked any up recently.

  8. I'll keep that in mind when I get around to starting Andrea Penrose's series--to keep reading because it gets better. :-) I hope you have a wonderful July!

  9. You had an excellent reading month, Katherine. Thinking about where I've been on my reading travels during June - I've spent a lot of time in alternate, somewhat hostile countries, given my taste for fantasy. And endured time on a spaceship thinking I was going to be blasted out of existences. You'll be glad to hear I wasn't... I hope July is also a great reading month for you, too:).

  10. June was Carib-A-Thon, so I had one book set in Antigua, one set in both England and Jamaica, and one set in both the US and Jamaica. 🏝☀😎
