Monthly Reading Recap - August 2022

Monthly Total - 20 - This month was pretty chaotic so I'm very pleased with this number.

Monthly Breakdown:

Audio: 8

Print:  7

Kindle: 5

Mystery: 17

Fiction: 3

Favorite Book of the Month:

The Magnolia Palace by Fiona Davis - I so enjoyed this book.  I loved the characters and the writing style.

Least Favorite Book of the Month:

Peach Pies and Alibis by Ellery Adams - This was a case of not what I expected.  I was expecting a cozy mystery with a bit of magical realism and ended up with full on magic, not much realism and only a bit of mystery.  I think I'll enjoy the next book a bit more now that I know what to expect.

Where My Bookish Travels Have Taken Me This Month:

New States Visited: Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky

And in addition to my usual visits to England I also visited Belgium and 1960s Hong Kong

How was your reading in August?  Where did you reading take you?

  1. One of our book club members, before she moved, was Fiona Davis' mother, and she arranged a Zoom meeting with Fiona for one of her earlier books. We were all very impressed with her as a person.
