Today I'm linking up with Carole from Carole's Random Life of Books for Books from the Backlog. I really enjoy the chance to feature a book that's been hiding in the piles of books for far too long!
Goodreads: Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters
Blurb: Amelia Peabody inherited two things from her father: a considerable fortune and an unbendable will. The first allowed her to indulge in her life's passion. Without the second, the mummy's curse would have made corpses of them all.
Why It Needs to Come Off the Shelf: I absolutely adore Barbara Michaels but never read her Amelia Peabody books under her Elizabeth Peters name. Also, Barbara Mertz (who is both Barbara Michaels and Elizabeth Peters) was actually an Egyptologist with several published books under her real name.
I had this same book on my shelf for many, many years. I hope you do read it and review it. It sounds like this author is the perfect person to write this series.
ReplyDeleteThis one has been on my shelf forever, too...really need to try the Ameilia Peabody books!
ReplyDeleteoh I've read and loved all of these. Enjoy!
