Category Breakdown:

Favorite Books of the Month:
The Affair of the Blood Stained Egg Cozy by James Anderson - I knew nothing about this going in and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It reminded me a bit of Agatha Christie with a bit of humor and a touch of international incident.
Least Favorite Book:
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman - This is an issue of it's not you it's me. I don't think Gaiman and I quite click. I could appreciate the writing in this book and did enjoy it but not as much as I think I could have been.
How was your reading in December?
A very good month of reading!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Twelve Slays of Christmas does sound good. I can see why it's a favorite of yours for the month of December. :-) It sounds like you had a great reading month, Katherine! I hope January will be good to you as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat month of reading. One of my students once tried me to get reading Neil Gaiman but like yourself it wasn't quite for me, even though he is a very good author. Your best book looks fun.
ReplyDeleteYou did well wit the reading goals. Gaiman is defintely an acquired taste. I read that book and it was indeed....interestingly odd. We did enjoy the series Good Omens starrig david Tennant and that was written by Gaiman,
ReplyDeleteYou had a wonderful month of reading. I noticed that my library has a copy of the third book in the series by Jacqueline Frost and I am going to have to check it out. It is such a fun series!
ReplyDeleteI've read one Gaiman, The Graveyard Book, and didn't like it. It was also another situation where a book is promoted as Middle Grade, but has characters doing older teen things. I have a few of his adult fiction books on my Kindle. I need to try one of them. 📚
