It's Sunday Post time! This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.
What I Got:
Absence of Mallets by Kate Carlisle
Pride, Prejudice, and Peril by Katie Oliver
Curse of Salem by Kay Hooper
Currently:
Listening: Pulp Friction by Julie Ann Lindsey
If you look closely you can see the cat! This is Will's new bean bag couch for the school room and not only is Will a fan but so is the cat. I don't love it as it's a bit more lumpy then I expected but it is comfy which is the whole point so we will keep it. Will picked the wall color which isn't quite as bright as it looks but it is still pretty bright. I'll post pictures when we get the maps and stuff up on the walls but we are loving having a settled space for school again.
Will has been feeling pretty good lately once he has time to wake up. For the first few hours he's really sluggish and just not feeling so great. Luckily this so far has been the only real symptoms from the doctors upping his chemo dosage. We are hoping his numbers stay high enough where he can continue this dosage without having to pause treatment. The feeding tube has been enormously positive and really doesn't seem to bother him too much.
I'm feeling a bit better from the chest cold that was annoying me last week. I'm still a bit congested but I'm not feeling as bad which is good. I was supposed to get my Covid booster this Friday but ended up rescheduling since I was still pretty blah feeling. I'm going to try again next week. Clocks go back and hour this week and I'm one of the few weirdos who actually likes it! I don't mind it getting dark earlier and I love the extra hour of sleep.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Aww the cat looks happily buried! :) Glad Will is doing well. The time change always throws me for a loop for a few days (who'd think one hour would be such a big deal?) but I have to admit an extra hour of sleep is a good thing :)
ReplyDeleteKate Carlisle's books always look fun.
By the time Autumn comes around I don't mind it getting darker at night either. Love the cat giving the thumbs up to the bean bag. They know! An Allison Brook book - thumbs up to that too. Good cold is abating, it does take time doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteWill and the cat look awfully comfy. Isn't it funny how once it gets cooler the cats love to sleep under the covers LOL Hope that chest cold is gone this week. (I got my booster about 9 days ago and my husband this past week. Glad the week was pretty good for the family and that the school room is coming together.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Will and the cat likes his new bean bag couch and that he is feeling okay even with the upped dosage. Glad you are starting to feel better too! Yeah, I don't like the darker nights as then I can't be outside past 5:30 without a fashlight. :( And I feel like I should be in bed by 6 as it's dark. :(
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading!

We have to wait until end of Dec for our boosters but the Royals can get theirs this month. Glad to see the homeschool room is coming along and that both Will and the cat enjoy the bean bag couch.
ReplyDeleteLove the couch and the blue wall! I hope Will continues to feel well. Once my body adjusts to the time change I enjoy the lighter early morning and darker early evening. Death on the Shelf sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are going well for Will and that you are feeling better.

Will and the kitty look pretty comfy. I'm glad he's doing well and that you are too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt sure does look comfy. I'm glad Will is doing well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading.
Love to hear about what's up with you guys. Will looks comfy along with the cat. Glad things are going well enough for him and that you're feeling better. Changing the clock - my husband hates it and would love to have us stay on Daylight Savings Time all year. That might come at some point - who knows? I like the earlier sunrise so I can go ahead and get outside to walk. Take care and hope your week goes well!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the school room is coming together... and Will (and the cat!) look pretty content on the bean bag couch. Probably a good idea to reschedule the covid booster for when you are feeling 100%, too. I appreciated that extra hour of sleep last night and am glad it's lighter earlier in the morning. The earlier darkness makes it feel more like fall.
ReplyDeleteHe looks comfy in that chair! I used to have those bean bag chairs when my kids were young...they loved them.
ReplyDeleteYour books look good...I need to read a good cozy or two! Have a great week.
The chair looks comfy! Glad he's feeling a bit better. Glad you are as well. Looks like you got some good books there! Have a great week!

I love getting more sleep and even lasts for the first week where it feels like you get more sleep than normal. And I like evenings so bring on the dark evenings. I don't like the sun being up so late in the evening.
ReplyDeleteGlad you and your son are feeling better. Absence of Mallets looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteI don't really feel like I get any more sleep with the time change but I am happy that it gets bright earlier. Although I wish it didn't get dark quite so early. I am so glad that Will is feeling better and that he has the flexibility to do things at his own pace. I hope that you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat looks delightfully cosy - glad Will and the cat appreciate it so much:). And that the feeding tube is working out so well. My sister needed one for 3 months when she was really poorly and it helped her enormously in getting back on her feet. Best of luck with the home schooling - I had so much fun when home tutoring, as you can always approach with lesson with the specific child in mind and make sure it is interesting and enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are feeling a little better, Katherine, and that definitely looks cozy. I'd prefer that we keep one time or the other, but, of the two changes, the fall is the least intrusive.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! I like my daylight in the morning and the extra hour of sleep. A lot of people don't understand that it starts getting darker out earlier anyway. They blame the whole thing on switching back to Standard Time. I've grown tired of explaining. They also don't understand that if they did away with the time change they would leave it on ST. They experimented one year in NYS when I was in high school, not changing back from DST, and it was pitch black in the morning when we were waiting for the bus and it was dangerous, so they ended up switching back to Standard Time anyway. I wish they would keep it on ST because I hate loosing that hour of sleep in the spring. ⏰
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see the finished school room! I did see the cat in the photo. 😺 Did you sneak the picture while Will was sleeping? 😉
I hope you've been having a good week and that your chest congestion is better. 🌞
