I'm taking a bit of a break from my usual Friday Linkups to try something a little different. I'm in a list making kind of mood so I thought I'd start making random five lists. Sometimes they'll be bookish other weeks not so much. Since it is the first Friday in August I'm looking at 5 books I'd like to read this month.
1. Mastering the Art of French Eating by Ann Mah - This has been on my TBR for ages and this is the month that it's finally time to try it!
2. The Secret Staircase by Sheila Connolly - I kind of accidentally started this cozy series and ended up enjoying it. This is the final book and is coming out later this month and I'm really looking forward to it.
3. The Corpse at the Crystal Palace by Carola Dunn - This has been gathering virtual dust on my review shelf since 2018. I've been really enjoying historical mysteries and have been trying to decide if I want to dive into this rather lengthy series. Since I already have this one I thought I'd give it a try. I read the first few books probably 15 years ago so I remember the basic premise so hopefully it won't be too hard to figure everything out.
4. The End of Summer by Rosamunde Pilcher - One of my lower tier goals was to reread my Rosamunde Pilcher books but I'm not making much progress so hopefully this will get me back on track.
5. French Fried by Kylie Logan - I really enjoyed the first book in this three book series when I read it in June and once I read this second book I'm caught up on the series so now is the time!
What are you hoping to read this month?
I also just did my TBR list aka Library Card for August! I don't recognise any of your books, but French Fried seems like something Elza will enjoy. I'll take a look.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Katherine!

I just picked up the first book in the Connolly series at the library the other day. Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteShelia Connolly is a good author. I'll be interested in reading your thoughts about the first book. It's been a while since I've read a food memoir.
ReplyDeleteInteresting list of reads! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI have that Ann Mah book & not sure why I haven’t read it yet. Pilcher is always amazing, takes me to another place and time.
ReplyDeleteThey all look good, I haven't read any of them but know I'd like them most likely.
ReplyDeleteI really hope you get a chance to read the food memoir!
ReplyDeleteI also want to read Mastering the Art of French Eating. πΌπ½
