Books that Take Place in Spring on My TBR Pile

Spring has definitely sprung!  This year I'm trying to read a bit more seasonally so I'm looking at my TBR to find books that take place during Spring.

1.  The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgens Burnett - This is a childhood favorite and I think is going to be a read aloud soon.  It takes place during the winter too but spring is rather gloriously represented.

2.  A Whisker of Trouble by Sofie Ryan - I love this series and have been wanting to read earlier books and this one set at the beginning of spring looks perfect!

3.  Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas - Spring is in the title and I've been wanting to read this one for awhile so now is the time.

4.  Antiques Bizarre by Barbara Allen - Faberge eggs will always get me and this series has been on my TBR for ages.

5.  Digging Up the Dirt by Miranda James - I actually have this one sitting on my desk right now.  There's a corpse in the backyard, quirky characters and all at the beginning of spring!

6.  Checked Out for Murder by Allison Brook - I don't know how spring-y this book is but the cover just screams spring and this series is a favorite!

7.  Murder's No Votive Confidence by Cristin Breecher - The title pun seems a bit of a stretch but this looks like a fun series and a good read for spring!

8.  Absent in the Spring by Mary Westmacott - It's no secret that I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan but I've never read any of her books under the Westmacott name.

9.  Red Bones by Anne Cleeves - A bit darker then the usual spring read but looks like a great mystery nevertheless.

10. The Chocolate Bunny Brouhaha by Joanna Carl - For one thing I think Brouhaha is an underused word and you can't have spring without a chocolate bunny.  Plus, I read the most recent book in this series last year and really liked it.

What spring-y books do you have on your TBR?

  1. I didn't do my TTT spring tbr post so maybe I'll go off and do that for this week and try to motivate myself to read!

  2. I don't usually try to coordinate my reading with the seasons. I think it could be a great idea this year. The only book from your list that I have read is Devil in Spring which is an amazing book.

  4. Interesting post! I have no idea which books on my TBR take place in spring. I’ve never been very good at coordinating my books with the seasons.

  5. I like seasonal reads, although I never end up doing them because of review schedules. I do have Checked Out For Murder to read from NetGalley. Hope you enjoy your books!

  12. The Chocolate Bunny title made me laugh. I tend to be a seasonal reader with genres.

  13. I don't usually bother coordinating books and seasons, with the occasional exception of Christmas, Hanukah, and other holidays at that time of year. You have some nice covers there.

  14. The Secret Garden is one of my favorite books. Perhaps I'll reread it this month... though I might skip the cholera epidemic at the beginning.

Also, I really loved Devil in Spring!
