This Week in Reading - March 17

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Death Waits in the Dark by Julia Buckley - I enjoyed the previous book in the series though it wasn't a favorite.  However, this blurb really grabs me and I love the cover so I have high hopes.  (Publisher)

Buried in the Stacks by Allison Brooks - I really enjoy this series about a haunted library.  I mean it involves a haunted library so how could I not like it?  (NetGalley)

Currently:

Reading: Murder Once Removed by S.C. Perkins and The Parting Glass by Emilie Richards

ListeningThe Silkworm by Robert Galbraith I'm enjoying it though it is a bit slow going.

Watching:  The Voice and the new Hallmark movies.  So far I'm loving The Chronicle Mysteries, Murder 101, and The Crossword Puzzle series.

Off the Blog:

This week is spring break and I must say it is not a moment too soon.  This whole spring forward nonsense killed me.  I'm one of the weird people who doesn't mind it getting dark earlier but I hate having to readjust to this part of the time change.  Not only do I feel like I'm losing an hour of sleep but I'm constantly convinced it's an hour earlier than it is so I feel like I'm losing part of my day.  I'm not a fan if you can't tell.  We are going to Mississippi to visit my grandparents this week for a few days but for the bulk of the week we will be home relaxing.  I'm really looking forward to it.

  4. In the UK, we haven't switched yet but I hate it when it happens too! It's unnatural!
Our spring holiday isn't until Easter so we've weeks to wait for that too... :(

I hope you adjust to the change soon. It won't be long until we're all 'falling back' again. :)

  5. I wish there was one more hour every day rather than the other way around. I hope you have a relaxed week ahead.

  6. I would rather it stay like this than change back to when it's dark early...lol. Especially for people like my brother who work until six, now he can do things outside when he gets home as he is an outdoors person and doesn't like to be cooped up. :)

I am reading Murder Once Removed too!!! Hope you liking it. I just started but so far I am liking it.

    Have a great week,

  8. I am not a fan of the time change either. I spend the first week constantly thinking about what the "real" time would be and everything feels off. I wish that they would just leave the clocks alone. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a wonderful spring break!

  10. I received Death Waits in the Dark too. I've read the first in the series - can't believe it's already up to book 4. I just can't keep up with all the cozy series! Enjoy your Spring Break!

  12. Have some good, solid R&R your spring break. I like how there are GSD's on that book's cover.

  14. Hope you enjoy spring break! I'm with you, I'm not a fan of Daylight Savings. I have a hard time adjusting. :(

  15. I don't know how it still has DST since so few people are a fan. We had spring break the week before. Nothing like coming back to the schedule and DST all at once. UGH. Have a super spring break, at least the weather seems to be improving. Happy reading! Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post

  16. The time change has been tough for me, too. I hate the spring forward thing! Thankfully we are retired now and I don't have to be anywhere too early in the morning. Enjoy your spring break!

  18. I am SO with you on the spring forward time change. Frankly, I wish they'd leave our clocks alone all year, but the spring is the worst. Thankfully we had spring break this past week, so I had a week off to get used to the time change.

Enjoy your break and time with the grandparents! I hope you get well adjusted to the new time :)

  19. Yes - I also hate losing that hour in the morning, though we haven't yet changed to BST. I hope you have a lovely time with your grandparents and are able to relax:)

  20. It's spring break here too but I don't get any time off for it. And the time change bothered me all week. Never used to but I felt like a zombie this time.

  23. Arizona doesn't do Daylights Savings, so I haven't been affected by that except being a *little* confused when our atomic clock changed the time even though Arizona didn't!

I'll be interested to see what you think of MURDER ONCE REMOVED. I liked it, but not as much as I wanted to.

  24. Yay for spring break! We're doing some spring cleaning with Baz not having classes. I am so happy you are getting to hang with your grandparents for a few days. 🌷

I agree with the DST jump. I hate it! I like my daylight in the morning and my dark at night. What gets me is some (too many) people don't realize it starts staying light out longer anyway, and there seems to be no way to explain it to them. 😒

I hope you have been having a wonderful week. 🌞
