Friday Five - Five Books I Hope to Read in March

I'm taking a bit of a break from my usual Friday Linkups to try something a little different.  Michelle over at Because Reading is Better Than Real Life   used to do a Five on Fridays that I always enjoyed and I've seen a few other variations on the theme.  As well I'm in a list making kind of mood so I thought I'd give start making random five lists.  Sometimes they'll be bookish other weeks not so much.  Since this is the first Friday of the month (and the first day for that matter) I thought I'd pick 5 books I'm hoping to read in March.  I've decided to start assigning each month a theme and this month's theme is Ireland.

1.  Jewels of the Sun by Nora Roberts - This is one of my favorites and one I haven't reread in awhile.  I love the bit of fairy story along with the story about a woman who has thrown up her life in order to find what makes her happy.  There's also lots of time in the pub and some good bonding.

2.  Lilac Bus by Maeve Binchy - I read A Week in Winter last year and absolutely fell in love with it.  I've heard it's one of her weakest so I'm looking forward to this one.

3.  Scandal in Skibbereen by Sheila Connolly - I love a cozy mystery and one that takes place in Ireland is even better.  As well I've read the first one and the sixth one and really enjoyed both so I think it's time to read the ones in between.

4.  Irish Stewed by Kylie Logan - Another cozy and while this one isn't technically set in Ireland but it is all about Irish food so I say it counts.

5. The Parting Glass by Emilie Richards - I read this women's fiction novel years and years ago along with the first book in the duo, Whiskey Island.  I loved them both and this one really stuck with me so I'd really like to revisit it.

What are you hoping to read in the month of March?

  5. Maeve Binchy and Sheila Connolly are perfect authors to help us celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I love books set in Ireland. I enjoyed those two, and now I'm adding some others to my list. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Maeve Binchy and Nora Roberts are a couple of old favorites. I love the name of your blog. I have secretly thought that a library would be a good place for me to live. lol

  8. Hope you enjoy them all, even the rereads. Lilac Bus caught my eye, as it's not one of the Binchy books I've read.

  10. I haven't read most of these authors but I have read a few by Nora Roberts and Maeve Binchy. I really want to read more from Nora Roberts. She is such a smart author with so many books out there. I hope you enjoy all of these, Katherine!
