This Week's Book Blogger Hop Question:
Could you ever pick your favorite book or is it like choosing your favorite child?
My Answer:
Honestly, I think choosing my favorite child might be easier. I can probably pick my top 5 favorite books but that's all I'll promise. How can I compare all the different genres? And that's not even counting the nostalgia factor!
This week's book is one that has been on my TBR from the second I saw it mentioned back in 2016 but somehow I never actually managed to read it. As my birthday present to myself I decided that now was the time to get a copy of The Forgotten Room by Karen White, Lauren Willig, and Beatriz Williams. While I haven't read Karen White before Willig and Williams are two of my favorites. I'm not very far into this one but so far I'm really enjoying it!

My Thoughts:
I like the descriptiveness of this first sentence. I can instantly picture the scene.
The 56:
I catapulted out of the chaise, catching the hem of my lab coat on the unruly spring, and miraculously landed on the floor with both feet.
My Thoughts:
I can definitely relate to this sentence. I trip or get caught on random things on a fairly regular basis. She is jumping up to try catch a rat with a cast iron skillet so I stopped relating to her after this but I do admire her determination!

I can't seem to pick a favorite book but I do love all of the authors of The Forgotten Room and I hope that you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI've got a library copy of this one waiting to be read. A colleague recently told me that there is a second book coming out soon (she is reading the ARC and loving it). Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI have so many favorite books that I treat like my tiny children! I don't have children, so I love and protect my physical books like they're my own. Also, I don't buy physical copies very often, but when I do, I make sure to take care of them the best I can.

ReplyDeletePicking a favorite book would be very hard. Like you, I might get it down to 5 or 10. Now, I have told people when they asked that Louise Penny is my favorite author. So, I guess I can do that. Still, so many other authors too. Ha!

Choosing one favourite book is way too hard - I don't think I would even be able to narrow it down to a top 5! There are way too many different genres that I enjoy and comparing them would just be impossible. Great answer and I definitely agree that choosing a favourite kid might actually be easier than choosing a favourite book (despite the fact I have no kids).

ReplyDeleteKaren White books are great - I've read and own them all. She's one of a small handful of authors that I happily re-read, along with Kate Morton and Susanna Kearsley.
