Now normally it's hard to come up with ten books or authors to fit whatever topic. This week, however, it was hard to cut the list down to ten! Some of these aren't the newest but they're all series that have come to my attention in the last year.
2. The Bess Crawfuord series by Charles Todd - English, 1920s, the first book is Bess trying to solve a mystery that took place in the past. How can I not be reading this?
3. The Hat Shop series by Jenn McKinlay - While McKinlay's cupcake series is good I absolutely love her Library series. I'm looking forward to giving this new series a try.
4. Consignment Shop series by Duffy Brown - I have a weakness for vintage clothing and really books about clothing in general.
5. American Heiress in London by Laura Lee Guhrke - While not all of Guhrke's books have been homeruns for me And Then He Kissed Her is one of my favorite historical romances. I have the first 2 in this series but have yet to start it.
7. Charles Lenox mysteries by Charles Finch - I have the first one of this series for years and have yet to read it! I read an interview by the author over at Bookwyrm's Hoard and really enjoyed what he had to say.
8. Book Retreat Mysteries by Ellery Adams - It's a book themed inn! It has books, it has murder, it has an inn. How could I resit?
9. Gideon's Cove by Kristin Higgins - I read some of a Kristin Higgins book and while I didn't love the characters I really enjoyed the writing so I'm looking forwarding to trying more from her.
10. Thunder Point by Robyn Carr - Some of my favorite bloggers are basically composing odes to her books and I have yet to read a one.
What series has been on any of your TBR for far too long?
The Charles Lennox mysteries have long been favorites of mine, especially if one likes historical London. I've got quite a few people tuned into them...great choice!

DeleteOh my goodness, I feel the same way about Robyn Carr......where have I been that I have not read anything by her? I'm definitely checking out that Hat Shop series, sounds like something I would enjoy.

DeleteI love Cinder, but I must warn you that A Discovery of Witches is not a good book. I believe I ended up giving it one star on goodreads.

DeleteI think my list would go well past ten too! I like your picks though. The Lunar Chronicles especially is one I want to read. I've only read one Bess Crawford mystery by Charles Todd, so I'd like to continue with that. I think all your list with the exception of the one I've read, All Souls Trilogy (which I liked) sounds good!

The only other one I've started is the All Souls trilogy. I read the first book when it came out and thought it was alright. It kind of had that Edward/Bella vibe to it. I do have the second book but have lost all interest in continuing. :/

DeleteI almost put The Lunar Chronicles on my list too, but I've decided to wait and just binge on them all when they're done. I need one series without the pain of waiting for the next book! I struggled to get into All Souls at first with Discovery of Witches but I did really like it in the end. I need to reread that and finish them all!

DeleteI love the Lunar Chronicles and can't recommend them highly enough. The cyborg thing put me off at first, but the books are actually pretty light on the sci fi. They're just exciting adventure novels that are clean and fun reads.
ReplyDeleteI like the Bess Crawford series as well, although they're not blow-you-away kind of books, more like gentle mysteries.
Robyn Carr is the only adult romance reader I read. She's a warm, sweet person and that comes through in her novels, which is why I enjoy them so much :)
I'm liking the Lunar Chronicles more and more!

The Bess Crawford series has been on my radar for a while now. The McKinlay and Brown books are new to and sound good. You have a nice mix of genres on your list. I hope you get a chance to read some of the books.

DeleteI have the first books for the first two series on my Nook but the power cord has died and I can't find a new one! It's making me a bit twitchy knowing I'm missing all of those books!
