This Week in Reading - June 22

It's Sunday Post time!  This is hosted by the awesome Caffeinated Book Reviewer and gives us all a chance to recap our week.

What I Got:

Nothing!  I do have a used bookstore trip planned for next week though - and maybe a visit to another bookstore.

Currently:

Reading: Murder, She Wrote: A Body in Boston by Jessica Fletcher and Terrie Farley Moran and Midsummer Mysteries by Agatha Christie

Listening: The Backyard Bird Chronicles by Amy Tan

We spent this weekend flooring shopping and are starting the process to replace the flooring downstairs.  I'm so excited but so dreading the upheaval of the whole thing.
Summer decided to finally show up here.  We've had some sunshine and the temperatures are in the 90s with humidity about 80% or so.  I know I'll be sick of it in a couple of months but right now I'm enjoying the pool time.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  1. Construction in your house, whatever it is, is never fun. Good luck with it all! And have fun on your bookshop excursion. I hope you find some good books to buy. :D

  2. I want to replace some flooring since 2019 but can't stand the upheaval. I'll get to it eventually. It's going to be too hot this week. Maybe we will go to the pool, something else we haven't done here since we moved in 2019. Sounds like I am stuck in a rut but really there are just so many things to do.

  3. I wish I had some local used bookstore but haven't - there used to be one I need to visit that part of the area and see if its still there. New flooring will be exciting - I know what holds me back over anything is the upheaval. I have never read anything by Amy Tan, for some reason think she is too literary for me. Maybe I am wrong.

  4. I had no idea that it was so much work to get new flooring---for both the homeowners and the flooring workfolks. It was hard clearing all the floors prior to the new installation, but rewarding!

  5. What kind of flooring are you getting? I would love to have nothing but wood and/or tile as it's cooler than carpet. Plus with a dog it's super easy clean up if there is an accident.

  6. Replacing the floor is definitely an upheaval, but I'm sure it will be worth it! Good luck.
